Rear camera just went inverted and rear assist lines are not displayed. Dealer has not been contacted. This is a safety hazard while backing up. I have had no other issues.

The rear camera is intermittently working. It tgen goes to black screen and says see dealership for help. It appears Ford is aware of this issue and recalled numerous vehicles but not the Taurus in their massive recall.

The rear view camera is not working properly. It blinks at times and then the view of the rear is upside down. This happens when I put the car in reverse.
Rear view camera flips upside down and blinks in/out.
My back-up camera has been a blank screen or a distorted screen for about 4 weeks now, but I noticed that the 2015 Taurus if not on the list with the other recalls.
Lately, the backup assist feature has started to malfunction more frequently. The screen reads the backup cameras are unavailable. At other times, it functions fine as designed. This would not pick up a child who could be at the rear of the vehicle. Sometimes the screen goes black and shows nothing, or a message that the camera is not available, and other times it seems to show a weird scaled down and mostly indistinguishable video that seems to be an upside down depiction of rear view images.

Front subframe (also referred to as k-frame, engine cradle, crossmember) rusted through forming large holes in two locations which could cause failure of the front subframe during operation. Locations mirror each other, are at the forward-facing side of the cross member just in from the point where the crossmember connects to the side beams of the k-frame. Holes formed at ~100,000 miles. The subframe overall has moderate rust and metal is fully intact. Rest of the vehicle has minimal corrosion. Ford discontinued the part and has no remaining inventory. No aftermarket part exists. Part number 9f9z-5c145-a prior part numbers: 8a4z-5c145-b, 8a4z-5c145-d.

After my battery died, my 2011 Ford Taurus defaulted my only working key to a ‘mykey’ with volume limits, seatbelt mutes, and other safety limitations. I cannot undo it without spending over $200 to fix an issue caused by your faulty system design. This creates a safety issue and financial burden that Ford should be responsible for.

Rear back up camera when in reverse my screen will blink black then be normal. It will sometimes go blue or just stay black or camera not available it sometimes have half screen. It has not been inspected nor any faulty lights warnings besides one or 2 times of camera unavailable. I know there are some recalls on other vehicles with this issue but the Taurus sho.
My back up camera keep going in and out. Screen turns blue and says backup camera is not available.

Ford has a recall on back up cameras and I believe my 2016 model should be included in this recall. My camera works about 50% or more of the time, a pop up warning shows camera not working. The recall is for other models in year 2016 but not my model.
In March of 2025 my vehicles driver assist lights started blinking coming out of my apt complex and within 15 seconds I couldn't even turn the wheels at all. Ive had several mechanics run their computer to diagnose the issue and was told that this make model and year has a recall for loss of steering which is an electrical issue. I called Ford themselves and they refused to even look at my car. I cannot find a mechanic who will even repair this electrical issue. Car is in perfect condition. Just replaced all 4 tires in January 2025 and oil change.

The vehicle has remote that cuts off the car and payments are not the issue. People are passing around the remote and putting people lives in danger. The shuts off multiple times comes from a device in the exhaust. They repetitive car getting shut off for extra money to mechanic associated with latest dealership or state of wisconsin.
When putting my car in reverse the back-up camera does not work properly. It either shows up and jumps screens to where you can't see anything behind you or make out what you're looking at. Or the screen just goes black. It has not been looked at by anyone. There are no warning lamps, signals or any other warning. The camera has been going in and out not working for over 6 months. I am worried that when backing up I might hit something or not see everything in view.
When I reverse I get a blue screen and or an error message saying “camera is unavailable”. I know there are quite a few Fords with a rear camera safety recall however the Taurus limited is not listed but is having the same issue. The fusion is listed which is a very similar car like the Taurus.
The backup camera on this 2018 Ford Taurus is faulty. It works intermittently with an image only occasionally being displayed, and often disappearing while backing up. The dealership said it has received many similar complaints for this vehicle.
This 2018 Ford Taurus had a water pump fail. This vehicle has a water pump inside the engine instead of attached to the outside of the engine like usual. When it fails, coolant fluid gets inside of the engine and ruins it. Normally, when a water pump fails, coolant would leak but not inside of the engine. This is a design flaw. This 2018 Taurus was bought new and maintained with excellence at Ford dealerships. This is a loss of worth of $6000 to me. The dealership states it would cost $10000 to replace the engine so it is not worth fixing. We will be getting rid of it so there will be nothing available for inspection especially since you would have to take the engine apart to get at it. Safety was not a concern. I am reporting this to you at the suggestion of Ford customer relations. Interestingly, today the service advisor at the dealership said he had 2 other Tauruses at the dealership at this same time with the same water pump failure/engine destruction. It seems unlikely that this is a coincidence. There should be a recall so that others do not suffer. A warning light did come on. Aaa was called and the vehicle was towed to the dealership.
Back up camera does not always work. At times there is a blank screen saying to contact dealer.
My former employer municipal utilities/city of poplar bluff manager tf, added an air tag or tracking device to my [xxx] mother's car, who is a retired doi employee. He also remotely updated the audio system. I spoke to the service manager at the poplar bluff, mo Ford dealership and he said the audio system should not be updated. When he updated the system, my mother had to replace the battery on the car and now the audio lights on the radio stay on and the bluetooth and wifi is constantly searching for a connection, which it did not do before tf messed with it. Tf done this to my personal chevy malibu as well, which led to its decommission, leaving me stranded on the side of [xxx], west of ellsinore, mo, where there was no cellphone service and in the middle of a very bad thunderstorm. Tf was using said device to track me after working hours or when I was using my own personal sick/vacation time, which he and his cousin [xxx] used in my wrongful termination. About 30 minutes before I got ready to leave for lunch or get ready to leave for the day, I would watch him go to the door to make tracking device active/wake up. He was monitoring/redirecting mine and my mother's phone calls and internet traffic as well. This is illegal as well as an invasion of privacy, that any adult should not be a part of. In my opinion it looks worse for a government employee doing it, when they know better. Tf's supervisors knew what was going on too, as well as all of the girls that I worked with, but did not try to stop tf's infringement on my civil rights. This invasion of privacy started around June and continued after my termination as well. I know of 2 other former employees of the city that have had the same exact problems too. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Me and numerous other Taurus owners (2013-2019) are experiencing catalytic converter issues with the catalytic converter(s). The sensors are throwing code p0420 and/or p430. This tells us emissions aren't up to emissions standards.
Back up camera doesn't work most of the time, and some times it's upside down!!!! should be under the current recall, but my make/model year isn't covered!!!.

I have heard of the recall for Ford back up cameras malfunctioning. My Taurus is experiencing the same problem but does not appear to be a vehicle that is being recalled. My screen turns blue most of the time when the car is put in reverse and then says camera unavailable.
Back up camera it’ll work when you start to back up and then all of a sudden it just stops working it’s been doing this often for about month.
Emailed previously on 5/27/24 but did not receive a response. This has not occurred to me again, because I am aware and take precautions to avoid the hazard. I hope Ford has has taken corrective action, either on their own or as result of my previous complaint. ***** my 2015 Ford Taurus, [xxx] , has a potential hazard, due to the fact that the "engine start/stop" button, is not protected from accidentally being activated, when the car is motion, causing it to turn off the engine, while in transit. I recommend the "engine on/off" switch have a hinged, spring-loaded cover over the switch, to prevent it from being inadvertently or accidentally activated, when the car is in motion. I have had two instances, where this has happened to me. In order to restart my car, I have had to coast to the shoulder, to come to a complete stop, so I can shift to "park," so I can restart my car. Luckily, in both instances, I was in a lane nearest the shoulder, else in a middle lane, it could have been disastrous for me, my family and others that might have struck my car! thank for the opportunity to convey my heart-stopping situations, and my suggestion for a potential remedy. Respectfully, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Backup camera of 2015 Ford Taurus. The screen will be blank or the picture may be upside down or it says report to the dealership immediately. Does not happen every time but most times. I backed into a ups van because the camera did not work.
Power steering died out and is not working.
I submitted this form in April 2024, never received a response from NHTSA. Ford of uniontown received a reply from fmc. Their response is they will not cover the repair to my vehicle. The reason is the recall affected cars built 7/31/2017 - 2/13/18. My car was built two months earlier 5/18/17. Even though my vehicle was built two months earlier than the recall dates, it also was built by with a defective shifter assembly, one that is missing the wire that is necessary to ensure that the vehicle is in park in order for the key to be able to be removed. My key can be removed while still in gear. According to the recall: "consequence: if the key is removed from the ignition while the vehicle is not in the park position and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash. This is definitely a dangerous situation.
Fuel pump relay module.
Please note that from the time I purchased the vehicle brand new the doors and roof have leaked. The same garage has continued to try and glue the molding in the outside. Now the back window area had the cloth sagging down. I was told it was a design problem and that the police car Taurus was experiencing the same problems. After having a problem trying to steer the vehicle,I pulled over to the side of the road and put the car in park. Suddenly the steering assist notification appeared and I could not move the steering wheel. I had the car towed to the Ford garage that services my car. Upon checking all available literature on the 2014 Taurus the failure of the steering is a common problem. Ford has recalled Taurus models up to the year 2013 but not 2014. . I contacted Ford and they gave me a case number to document my concern in the event of a Ford issued recall. How many complaints do they need before the problem is corrected by Ford and not the consumer spending up to 4000. To fix the problem. Perhaps it is a design defect.
Backup camera works inconsistently. Sometimes works but usually doesn’t and either displays an all blue screen or black screen with a box saying camera unavailable at this time and you have to select ok to make that screen go away. It’s been like this for about 2 years now.
Every couple weeks when driving slowly around a corner, the brakes will all of a sudden come on & stop my car. If I had anyone behind me, I would have had several collisions, by now. My mechanic has looked at the brakes, wheels, etc. , & cannot find the problem. I am very concerned about this defect. Please help!.
The ac/heat will shut off randomly and not turn back on. I’ve had my car into the shop many times and the issue still is not fixed. I’ve talked to many people with the same car as me and they all have stated that they have the same issues.
Water pump failure causing a major leak. Because the vehicle is designed to have the water pump run on the timing chain and the oil pan right underneath the water pump, the coolant leaks right into the oil pan and coolant enters the engine. I was driving on a back road and had to abruptly pull over on the side of the road because the driver assist screen said “engine coolant overheating. ” this was the first and only time this message appeared. There was smoke coming from under the hood. Numerous mechanics that I’ve spoken to said that if I drove it any longer, there’s a good chance the engine could blow. So now I’m looking at a $3,000+ repair for this. Realistically, any other make and model (that was designed with common sense) with a failed water pump should cost $500-1,000. And won’t run the risk of ruining your engine on top of it. I spoke to several Ford dealers and third party mechanics. Every one of them knew exactly what I was talking about like they had seen this many times before. The third party mechanics refused to fix it because it’s an 11+ hour labor none of them said there are any pro’s to having the water pump connected to the timing chain. But there are many con’s to this design. Sounds like negligence on behalf of the engineers who designed all the 3. 5l and 3. 7l v6’s in the Fords. Luckily, I was going between 20-30 mph on a backroad when this occurred. Otherwise, this could have ended very badly and I’d like to prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future.

No one was injured. The contact was able pull over on the side of the roadway with the driver’s side of the trailer still attached to the vehicle. The contact detached the trailer from the vehicle and had the trailer hauled by another vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the rear sub frame was rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 190,000.
