I submitted this form in April 2024, never received a response from NHTSA. Ford of uniontown received a reply from fmc. Their response is they will not cover the repair to my vehicle. The reason is the recall affected cars built 7/31/2017 - 2/13/18. My car was built two months earlier 5/18/17. Even though my vehicle was built two months earlier than the recall dates, it also was built by with a defective shifter assembly, one that is missing the wire that is necessary to ensure that the vehicle is in park in order for the key to be able to be removed. My key can be removed while still in gear. According to the recall: "consequence: if the key is removed from the ignition while the vehicle is not in the park position and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash. This is definitely a dangerous situation.

Fuel pump relay module.

Back up camera stopped working which would help to avoid accidents backing up. When I am backing up it goes black or it says contact the manufacturer. It has been. Like this for over a year and there is a recall that states they dont have a solution yet for the issue.

The backup camera will sometimes produce a grainy image or prompt a warning the camera isn't working. This issue has been noticed for other vehicles and issued a recall for the Ford Taurus but doesn't cover my vehicles year, 2014. The 2015 recall affects 2015 and later Tauruses, 25v695000.

Rear view camera or back up camera works very intermittently. Sometimes it comes on, then goes off. Doesn't come on other times. Next time you use it, it may come on. Then it may work for a week without issues. Obviously no picture allows potential for accidents. I have not taken it to the dealer as my son hasn't been able to afford the repair of replacing the camera which would be what they say. He has learned to not depend on it, until he can pay for new camera. When camera doesn't come up, there is a message about having dealer service it. I saw as I started this complaint, that it looks like there is a recall for this. Decided to continue just to report the issue itself.

Please note that from the time I purchased the vehicle brand new the doors and roof have leaked. The same garage has continued to try and glue the molding in the outside. Now the back window area had the cloth sagging down. I was told it was a design problem and that the police car Taurus was experiencing the same problems. After having a problem trying to steer the vehicle,I pulled over to the side of the road and put the car in park. Suddenly the steering assist notification appeared and I could not move the steering wheel. I had the car towed to the Ford garage that services my car. Upon checking all available literature on the 2014 Taurus the failure of the steering is a common problem. Ford has recalled Taurus models up to the year 2013 but not 2014. . I contacted Ford and they gave me a case number to document my concern in the event of a Ford issued recall. How many complaints do they need before the problem is corrected by Ford and not the consumer spending up to 4000. To fix the problem. Perhaps it is a design defect.

Backup camera works inconsistently. Sometimes works but usually doesn’t and either displays an all blue screen or black screen with a box saying camera unavailable at this time and you have to select ok to make that screen go away. It’s been like this for about 2 years now.

Every couple weeks when driving slowly around a corner, the brakes will all of a sudden come on & stop my car. If I had anyone behind me, I would have had several collisions, by now. My mechanic has looked at the brakes, wheels, etc. , & cannot find the problem. I am very concerned about this defect. Please help!.

The ac/heat will shut off randomly and not turn back on. I’ve had my car into the shop many times and the issue still is not fixed. I’ve talked to many people with the same car as me and they all have stated that they have the same issues.

Water pump failure causing a major leak. Because the vehicle is designed to have the water pump run on the timing chain and the oil pan right underneath the water pump, the coolant leaks right into the oil pan and coolant enters the engine. I was driving on a back road and had to abruptly pull over on the side of the road because the driver assist screen said “engine coolant overheating. ” this was the first and only time this message appeared. There was smoke coming from under the hood. Numerous mechanics that I’ve spoken to said that if I drove it any longer, there’s a good chance the engine could blow. So now I’m looking at a $3,000+ repair for this. Realistically, any other make and model (that was designed with common sense) with a failed water pump should cost $500-1,000. And won’t run the risk of ruining your engine on top of it. I spoke to several Ford dealers and third party mechanics. Every one of them knew exactly what I was talking about like they had seen this many times before. The third party mechanics refused to fix it because it’s an 11+ hour labor none of them said there are any pro’s to having the water pump connected to the timing chain. But there are many con’s to this design. Sounds like negligence on behalf of the engineers who designed all the 3. 5l and 3. 7l v6’s in the Fords. Luckily, I was going between 20-30 mph on a backroad when this occurred. Otherwise, this could have ended very badly and I’d like to prevent this from happening to anyone else in the future.

The contact owns a 2009 Ford Taurus x. The contact stated while driving 70 mph and hauling a trailer, the tow hitch detached from the vehicle, causing the passenger’s side of the trailer to collapse. No one was injured. The contact was able pull over on the side of the roadway with the driver’s side of the trailer still attached to the vehicle. The contact detached the trailer from the vehicle and had the trailer hauled by another vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the rear sub frame was rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 190,000.

This has happened since we purchased the car. When driving down the road out of the blue the wrench light on the dash turns on and the car loses all power!! dangerous! so dangerous. I have spoken with other foes tauras x owners and they too have the same issue. When it happens I pull over and shut the car off and wait a bit. . I turn it back on and the wrench light is off but car wont shift into gear!! it's very hard to get the shifter to move. When it does move it's a loud clunk clunk sound like u just dropped the transmission on the ground!! this is happening more often then not now. Hundreds of thousands of people who own this vehicle have complaints about the same issue. No one can figure out the issue! some say a sensor, yet a sensor would not make my transmission clunk like that! a lot say it's the control arm and Ford has had the wrong control arm installed in all there does tauras x"s 2007 and 2009. My car has 77,609 miles on it. It's been doing this for the past 40,000 miles! I'm truely scared to drive this car aspecially in the winter!! Ford you already have been told and are well aware of this issue ! fix it or get sued by tens of thousands of us all petitioning to do so and all together as a group. So buckle up Ford!.

The problem is I have a faulty backup camera that shows distorted images, the projection on the screen is upside down, and suddenly goes black, displays a warning message with black screen and a triangle caution symbol with exclamation mark. (however, it does not immediately show that warning message). With this back-up camera not properly working it poses a dangerous risk to others and myself. Luckily, I have not hit anyone yet such as a young child, or any individuals. If this were to happen it could cause serious harm and leave an individual with permeant injuries, or even life threating injuries, or death. Since the camera stopped working, I have come awful close to getting into accidents with other vehicles upon backing out of parking spots, backing into the streets, etc. Since then, I had to also replaced my passenger side mirror that I took off when suddenly the camera stopped working when I was backing out of my garage and the picture from camera immediately went black and I panic and took off my passenger side mirror by hitting the side of my garage door opening. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership, to where they repaired the passenger mirror, and I explained to them about the backup camera. The Ford dealership did their inspection and confirmed that the camera is indeed not working properly, and they advised that I needed a new camera. However, I was told that the camera is on back order, and they have no idea when it will be available. The first time I noticed that the back-up camera was not working was early August 2022, exact date unknown. Up until this happening, things were fine and never had an issue.

The car is stopping when at idle and at times will loose full power when driving down the road. We have replaced the mass air flow sensor, cleaned the mass flow uptake, and replaced the fuel pump driver module. We bought this vehicle from turnpike Ford in huntington. The 3rd party warranty showing on my loan agreement was bumper to bumper 7 years or 72,000 miles however the warranty paper stated 3 years or 36,000 miles. We have tried working with todd judy but they refuse to honor the warranty so my car has not been able to be repaired. They advised me I needed a new motor and transmission. We need this issue resolved it’s a high risk for us when driving the vehicle and these repairs should not be coming out of our pocket.

Only regular maintenence < drove to desination and parked car and car set on fire , at first it was smoking so we called the fire department and by the time they got there the flames were 10 ft high and the whole front was burnt and melted my car IA junk now , before this all gauges worked jst fine and nothing un-ordinary stuff going on.

5 April 2022 my 2010 Taurus sel 3. 5l engine overheated unexpectedly and the temp warning light came on my way home. I let it cool down during a heavy rain before heading home. I left the vehicle at a gas station for a couple of hours and return to bring it home (3 miles). Temp gage remain steady (3 miles) until it was parked on my driveway. The next day, I conducted an assessment to the cooling system. Reservoir was completely empty and my oil deep stick level was higher than normal 1 inch above max range. It showed coolant contamination. I read several reports about a flaw with the internal water pump design. If indeed is a flaw design or pump manufacture defect, why Ford motor company hasn't fix the issue or provided a solution to alleviate this flaw? now I have to incur on major engine repairs or replacement, in which I am not sure if it is cost effective. Current mileage 171,424.

My water pump went out with 0 warning. Not even a low coolant light came on. I checked the coolant noticed it was a little low, went to work and on my way home from work my car overheated; again with no low coolant light or warning. I was Smart enough to crank the heat in order to keep engine cool and by the time I got home, my car was chuckling. I was worried I may have cracked the head. I had to have the car towed ($150) and the water pump repair was ($2300). In all my years of automotive, I've never heard of a water pump repair cost this much. Googling the part is roughly $380 but because its chain driven its an 11 hr repair. I have copies of the invoice and towing but not with me at the moment.

I was not notified from Ford about the serious safety recall on my 2015 Ford Taurus. I'd like to have this safety concern fixed immediately so I don't end up in a severe auto accident. I can drop my vehicle off. I've never had this happen and I'm nervous to drive the vehicle. I have noticed a difference in the way it drives please help get this sorted out with my local Ford dealership in fort myers, FL. Thank you!.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving in the rain at various speeds, the vehicle would stall as the "check manual" and wrench warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer on two separate occasions and each time the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

I was in a right hand curve and it felt like my wheel flipped to one side. My steering felt loose. I took it to the shop and had them inspect it. Nothing was wrong with my suspension. I continued to drive it. My steering became even more loose and sloppy. I was struggling to stay in my lane due to the loosened steering. I have had it checked many times and nothing. When it rains I am jerked all over the road from water. It feels like my tires are being pulled in opposite directions at the same time while I am slung into on coming traffic.

Hvac system has malfunctioned. The system turns on but no fan motor, heat, a/c, or defroster. Fogged windows have caused dangerous driving conditions an independent service center has confirmed this problem all other information is unknown.

I own a 2011 Ford Taurus sel model. August 2021 water leaking from sunroof, windshield and headliner on left side soaked and water drips out from the seam, moisture above visor and water stains visible. While driving if I brake, I can the water slush from back to front under and inside car. Drivers side floor is flooded with water since August 2021 and reported it to geico and has not been fixed. Reason for reporting: is there a recall on the sunroof or windshield ? dangers of electrical damage, mold and mildew and rusted out floor shortens the life of the vehicle.

Rear camera is not responding resulting in the inability to see persons or objects in fear camera screen while in reverse. It stopped working on 08/13/2021. The screen states " contact the dealer " error message. Touch screen not responding to access settings for rear camera, climate, navigation, ect.

My vehicle suddenly has a wrench light pop up and the car stalls out. Still runs but wont accelerate . This has happened three time to me on the interstate. Took car to 3 separate mechanics and no codes were coming up. The car always starts up after it turned off but this is very dangerous. I couldve been killed.

The dealer has completed all the recalls due to date on the vehicle, but is unable to report them so the vehicle is still listed on NHTSA. Gov as having 1 incomplete recall. The dealer is unable to provide any information on the issue, promising that the case will be reviewed by internal team, the manufacturer is unable to provide any information as well, stating that the all the recalls have been completed, the dealership got paid, but 1 recall remains listed on NHTSA. Gov . I cannot use the vehicle as intended as 1 still active recall prohibits me from doing so. Is there anything what can be done to update the recalls or make the dealer to complete and record them properly?.

Basically I was driving and stopped and my house and while in ideal the wiring under the hood and under the fender into the dash all started to melt together shorting the systems so I tried to repair and replace the parts due to being a used vehicle and didn't know how to report this until now. So I cut the melted chunk of wiring harnesses out and trashed it. But I stopped due to the inability to find any replacement harnesses from Ford or Mercury so now my car has been sitting for several months. I have only been able to find melted harnesses on junk yard cars. Ford used poor quality 16 gauge wiring that the outer coating became brittle and easily frayed. Every wiring harness I've seen has bad spots from wires melting or breaking and corroding. I'm my case the wiring melted causing the cooling system to stop working properly and almost damaged or may have damaged my engine. I don't have full coverage so I am forced to park it and do what I can myself which has made me lose my job and ruined my life. Please do look into this I'm sure more people have the same issue just check a junk yard and you'll see what I mean. My reverse screen camera doesn't work. The warning beeps do intermittently, but the view does not and hasn't for years. I just get a message. Sometimes if I turn the camera off and then on it resets it. I got this tip from someone at Ford. This year and make should be part of the recall.

I noticed on the Ford pass app that there was a warranty extension for the apim on the sync system. They (Ford) explained to me that the notification was sent to a previous owner and not me (I have owned the car since 2016). They now say this extension is expired and the cost would have to be my responsibility.

Ford has just announced a recall for certain model year Taurus and fusion vehicles regarding malfuntion of the backup camera. My 2014 Taurus is not included in the recall, notwithstanding the fact that it exhibits the same malfuntioning characteristics as those included in the recall: sometimes presenting a black screen, sometimes presenting an upsidedown image, and occasionally presenting a correct image. The camera began exhibiting these characteristics about four years ago. I believe that the recall population should be extended to include the 2014 Taurus.

I am semi skilled technician currently working on walser Toyota bloomington. I got a recall letter called 20s04, and I took my car to inver grove Ford mn. After I got the service my car start to creat weird motion and unusual vehicle handling in highway speed and local speed. Sometimes hard to control the vehicle. I took it back to inver grove Ford and they told me the stabilizer link worn. I replaced it by my self and the problem is still there. Even getting worst every day.
