Three problems related to front suspension strut have been reported for the 1996 Ford Windstar. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front left macpherson strut spring broke. Dealer was inspecting vehicle.
Suspension spring broke and blew right front tire. Also, struts collapsed, and consumer lost control and came to a full stop.
Driving 30mph, went over pothole which caused strut to be pushed upwards & was crushed. Vehicle can be driven, but not for long. Took to Ford & could not find problem. Took to 2 different mechanics & informed by both of crushed strut.
