Consumer collided head-on with an animal weighing approximately 80-90lbs while driving about 45-50mph on highway. The driver and passenger safety belts extracted "entirely" from their housing and did not retract to restrain occupants. The consumer and passenger suffered injuries as a result. Ts.

Driverside seatbelt fell apart in my hand! then after furthur checking , the middle pass side belt was starting to fray. After 20 days of not having a seatbelt they are finally being replaced. Very dissapointed in Ford taking its sweet time when it comes to the safety of its owners and there families.

My concern is that the seat belt webbing frequently is trapped in the door jab upon the drivers exit. I believe this repeated action could lower the tensile strength of the seat belt webbing. Ford recently replaced the assembly including the webbing, but this replacement assembly continues to frequently not fully retract the webbing resulting in the same trappment. I contacted the Ford motor company safety office several times, their advice was to seek warranty replacement. This does nothing to address the potential safety issue with the webbing. The warranty narrative reads, "s25/dirver seat belt is slow to retract".

Owner just bought vehicle and is having seat belt problems on the passenger's side, dealers do not address the problem.
Middle seat and passenger side seat belts failed.
The driver's side/ passenger's side/middle, and rear shoulder belts are coming apart at webbing. Dealer replaced them a year ago.
The safety belts located on the right front, and the rear seats, lock up while riding normally in the vehicle, actually squeezing the occupant, so the occupant has to remove the seat belt and then refasten it due to the pendilum locking up. Also if you are sitting in the seat with the seat belt on, and lean forward to pick something up, it will automatically lock up, and again you have to remove the seat belt, and then refasten it. I have contacted the freedom Ford dealer, and they advised me, that is what they are supposed to do! I am a police officer, and have attended numerous training courses, and know that this is not the proper way that the seat belt operates, and explained that to the service department personal, but they dismissed my complaint, and stated, do what ever you have to!.
I've been having a problem with the seatbelts (the front passenger and all 5 of the rear seatbelts). I have talk to the dealer and I have sent a email to Ford inc. The tell me that there is nothing wrong with the seatbelts. The problem that I'm having is that the seatbelts (except the drivers side) is that they keep locking up. What I mean by that is when you pull the seatbelt out to put it on and snap the two halves together, when you let the extra part of what you pulled out roll back into the roller, after this point, most of the time the seatbelt locks. They will not pull out anymore. You can't lean forward without taking the seatbelt off. I have found that when I or my kids ride in the back seats or front passenger seat, that the seatbelts keep getting tighter as you drive down the road, which in turn makes you take the seatbelt off due to pain from the seatbelt pulling tight. I was told that a rep. From Ford looked at this problen and said there is nothing they can do.
The vehicle's seat belts do not lock. Yh.

Driver's 3-point seat belt fastener failure.
Fatigue failure of wire springs which stiffen stalk, and lie next to webbing. Sharp ends of broken springs abraded and weakened webbing- concern for belt failure under crash loads. Same fatigue failure seen on left and right seats.
My 2000 Windstar has given us more trouble than we need. We are very displeased with it. The dealer will not work with us to give us the assured safty we need. The seat belts tighten up on their on. Back in July the back window burst out while sitting still. The door was missing a part that caused the lights to flicker. The radio goes of by it's self. All we want is another well made van. Ford will continue to fix it but we do not want this van. Please help. Thank you.
Vehicle came with a different type of seatbelt than what it was stated in the owner's manual. The manual stated that vehicle should have the automatic retractable seatbelt.
