The hydraulic lifts were held in place by a screw on both sides of the tailgate. The screw on the left side broke. As a result the tailgate released and slammed down very hard.

Rear hatch light keeps coming on and won't go off. When backing out after dark it is very unsafe to be driving. The dealer replaced the switch and the hatch lock light comes on, and the door doesn't seem like it is locked.
Rear liftgate latches have been replaced seven times in 1 year, dealer has been unable to fix.
