The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the engine would not shut off after several attempts. In order to shut off the engine, the contact disconnected the distributor cable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the failure may have been attributed to a defect within the steering column. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance. The current and failure mileages were 150,000.
While driving at 45mph turned right and consumer lost control. Dealer notified.

While driving at 30 mph vehicle's steering fluid was leaking and had to be filled every 30,000 miles to make it home. Please provide additional information. Ts.

While driving vehicle began to make a loud grinding sound that became worse as consumer was driving, consumer was informed by a mechanic that the steering could have been lost, however the steering did go out briefly in Dec and may, also the steering column was worked on Nov 16, but consumer was informed that the 2 problems were not related, also there was a popping noise around the windshield, which was determined to be pillar molding warped.
When making either right or left hand turns there is a clicking sound from steering. Took vehicle to dealer, who insisted it was a rock in steering column. Did not remedy problem.
Steering wheel lock, key locked in steering column.
The steering column moves up and down. Also there is a funky noise coming from the front left end suspension when turning the steering wheel to the left. The dealer was not able to find out what was causing the problem with the steering, loss of steering control resulted in vehicle hitting curb causing damage to vehicle.
Consumer states while traveling without any indication vehicle lost all power steering. Dealer was contacted and replace steering rack pump and pulley. Please provide further information. Ts.
