Lift gate closes by itself I have to put a pole to hold it up and it won’t hit me, it says the air bags needs to be serviced, stabilitrak keeps going off, ball bearing needs work. Radio won’t turn on no sound on air signals, the body chasis something popped while driving, the tracking control keeps turning off, the seats move while driving, catalytic converter are moving car only go 12 mpg.
Deer hit me on the highway at 2am on December 26th. No air bags deployed.
The air bags light came on with no reason truck never being in a crash, the abs and the off road light is on too, the break lights are on while you don't step on the pedal and they go off when you step on it. . .
It was in a front end collision the airbags didn’t deploy my insurance said they totaled the car out due to needing a lot of money to fix it and I contacted gm about it they said there was no recalls and no repairs were don’t to it.
Passenger airbag warning light has been showing on my dash since I purchased the vehicle in October of 2021. I brought the vehicle to an auto repair shop to have it checked, and was told that the airbags would malfunction if I were to get into an accident that called for them to deploy.
The service stability track warning will come on while driving. It will then make the SUV shut off. This is really terrifying since it happens while driving. After the SUV shuts off, you have to wait a couple minutes before you're able to restart. The last two months, the service airbag warning will come up on the screen out of no where. It will come on while driving and setting stationary. Water will pour out from the glove box while driving.
There is water that comes down into the wiring harness of all of the doors. I am able to take the wiring harnesses off and tons of water dumps out. This has corroded many of the electrical components. The corrosion has led to locks windows mirrors and speakers not working. Please recall this. . . . .
I have been having issues with my "service air bag" light coming on whenever the passenger side seatbelt is pulled to hard or even if I hit a bump in the road. This also occurs when the passenger makes the slightest of movement in the seat. It occurs both when the vehicle is stationary and while going down the road. It is starting to happen more and more as time goes on. It happened today just going to the top of my driveway which is less than a mile long and back to the house. Also, I have been having issues with my tailgate randomly falling when halfway open or fully open. The tailgate has almost caused injury to my husband, both of my boys and myself. The vehicle is always stationary when this issue occurs and does not happen every time the tailgate is opened.
There is a airbag notification that comes on also im having engine issues where my fuel runs out extremely fast without notice. I can drive less than 30 miles and my vehicle will be almost of empty from a full tank. It just happened out of nowhere. My friend also has the same vehicle and she is having the same issues with her car. I really need this fixed ASAP.
service air bag had been on my computer screen for a few days and isn't going off. I purchased this vehicle used and they told me it means something is unplugged. I took it back only to have it come back in months later. It sometimes happen as I'm driving but lately it's there when I turn the ignition. I also have shifting problems out of first gear and sometimes second. I was told it's the wave plates and it's a known issue. How are these vehicles still being sold with the same issues over and over! this happens all the time as I'm driving.
Dash light stating "service air bag" comes on intermittently. While traveling and sometimes at stop.
The vehicle's airbag readiness light will illuminate and/or a service air bag message will appear in vehicle's driver information center, the airbag toggles off and on when I have a front seat passenger. I found the following on your website: 15536 - special coverage. Certain 2008 – 2013 Buick enclave, 2008-2013 GMC Acadia, 2008-2010 Saturn outlook, and 2009-2013 Chevrolet traverse vehicles were recalled to address corrosion and/or loose crimps in the driver and passenger-seat mounted side-impact airbag (siab) wiring-harness connectors, which could cause an increase in resistance that may disable the siab, front-center airbag, if equipped, and seat-belt pretensioners. Gm has received reports that, in some cases, the required repair may have been incorrectly performed by the dealer service technician. The gm recall number was n14030 (gfpe number n-140030) NHTSA recall 14v118. Dealers are to remove the section of the wire with the faulty repair and re-connect wires.
Air bag off light always on with service air bag.
Takata recall- I purchased a 2008 GMC awd Acadia about a year ago. While test driving the vehicle I noticed a whiny sound that I informed the dealer about upon return. The dealer checked it out and told me it just need power steering fluid. So he filled the fluids and I heard nothing for a month or so. I took the truck back for misc. Repairs two other times after that regarding sounds that I was heard coming from the vehicle. After that things seemed fine for a few months or so. Early September, the truck slowed down on the highway. The dash was reading 60mph but I was really going 30mph. Then while exiting to turn off the highway the power steering began acting up and was extremely hard to turn. I almost ran into the wall not prepared to use such force. August 29th I went to jiffy lube and had the fluids topped off and power steering fluid was full. I put the truck in the shop for a full diagnostic after the battery went completely dead and the vehicle would not start in October. They informed me that the power steering rack needing replacing and the faulty sun roof had flooded the entire vehicle with 1 1/2 inches of water. The battery died because the port was filled with water. From the beginning of September, when the power steering went out, the vehicle has only been driven very short distances (to the gas station on the corner, less than a mile). I called a gm dealer to check for recalls and there are none which is sad and a total rip off.
Since I bought the truck the I get an on and off message to service the air bag. Also while I am driving the truck over heats and when I come tona stop and turn the engine off and completely remive the key. The engine stays on and water pump starts to buble as if the water was boiling and after about five minutes there is no water in the pump and when you add water the water get extremely hot. I have seen in other forums where all have had the same issue. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the vehicle. I have four small children and don't feel safe however the truck is financed and I have no option.
My 2008 GMC Acadia began displaying service air bag and turning off the passenger airbag intermittently when a passenger was in the front passenger seat due to the wiring harness under the passenger seat. After a few months it now stays on all the time. GMC said it's not under a recall but I have read several complaints about it with the same year make and model stating it's a recall this happens when in motion and while stoped.
Service air bag message has gone off and on for a couple of months. Now message is on continuously.
We have a 2008 GMC Acadia that now has approximately 164,000 miles. It was recently found out that a water leak has caused the airbag system to be come completely disabled. Water leaks in these model vehicles are a known issue and gm has put out technical service bulletins about these leaks and how to fix them. Because our vehicle is over the mileage limit the local dealership is saying gm will not warranty the leak repair or the damage to the airbag system from the leak. We are now faced with a bill of $1600 to repair the airbag system and unknown amount to repair the water leak and any other damage caused by it to the vehicle. What I do not understand is why a leaking sunroof with admitted factory defect issues from the manufacture has a mileage limit for warranty repairs. I can understand a time limit. This issue has now made our vehicle completely unsafe for my family to drive and ride in.
The service airbag for passenger stays on dealer says there's no communication with the airbag and module.
I purchased a 2008 Acadia in November 2016. The seller stated that they had to order a airbag and replace the old one. Alone with the seat belt. I didn't get the car until a month later. When I got the Acadia it was making some whining noise, wouldn't crank back up, rattle and clatter, dragging in the transmission like driving in a certain gears, noisy in neutral. Airbag, seatbelt and stability traction control light continue to come on. Needed a alternator and now the engine gone. I been having problem's with the car since I got it, and it been only 13th months. We were driving twice and the vehicle shut down on us on the in-state. We had to get it pull back home. Several times driving on the main highway and street it wouldn't go in great. I don't photos at this time. I would have to wait until tomorrow, to go outside and take pictures. When I got the vehicle the left driving side tire light continue to come on, still having problem's with changing the tires left back and right front. Don't know how many miles was on there. I tried to place an x n the seat belt and unknown other space, but it wouldn't let me.
When it rains, water leaks from the air bags. Water also leaks from the light fixtures and dvd player in the middle seating. Water also comes in somewhere under the dashboard/electrical panel area, onto the passenger side floor. The last time it rained, there was standing water on my passenger side floor. This has happened while driving it in the rain and while it was parked. Stablitrak and traction control lights are constantly coming on - even after looked at. - I have pictures of lights on. Also constant service engine soon light problems.
Recently we had a lot of rain and I noticed it once before when it rains constantly water entered the inside of the car. Had the car checked everything seemed okay but on 2 October 2016 the rain was coming in the care through the airbags and when I turned the car off the engine kept running. The following morning no rain but the car wouldn't start and the key got stuck in the ignition. I find this to be costly when the battery not even a year old. Just need to have this issue resolve because putting my car in a garage on rainy days is not an option for me.
Service airbag comes on and off at times this was repaired at one time but now it's coming back on again.
I started up my vehicle and an alert comes on saying "service air bag" both driver and passenger lights on, the airbags show they are not funtioning.
I have noticed before after a rain the windshield would fog really bad so I figured I had a small roof leak, however I didn't know it was a major leak. I open the door and noticed both front floor boards are wet. I vacuum it out and get about 8 gallons of water out. It wouldn't start so after locating the battery in the passenger floor board the battery box was full of water. I vacuum that out. I let it dry for a while and jump it off. It cranked fine and I let it idle for a while. I closed the doors with windows down with it still running and put a fan in the front seat. It was sitting in my garage running, with a box fan in the front seat blowing, I shut the doors with the windows down, and about 30 seconds after I shut the door I am standing beside it and hear a loud explosion. I look over and both side curtain like air bags had deployed. The car shuts off, the flashers come on. After I gain my composure from being scared to death from the noise, I reach in and turn the key off. After that I disconnected the battery because I was then afraid it may blow more air bags or short out and catch fire. I did some research online and notice there are tons of complaints about the roof leaks, there are a few technical bulletins that gm has about it as well, however there was no recall since it isn't a safety issue. Well, if the roof leak is getting enough water in the vehicle that it causes the air bags to deploy for no reason, I believe this is a real safety concern. I am just grateful I wasn't driving it and my 2 young kids were not in the vehicle when it happened. I just bought less than 6 months ago from a dealer. I don't know what to do at this point, so far I just called my insurance company. Any suggestions on what to do next? the pics are of water in the car prior to the air bags deploying.
The airbag on/off lights would both light up at the same time so you didn't know if it was functioning properly. The warning "service airbag" came on. This was while driving any speed, any type road, also while the car was in park. Key would not come out of ignition, the engine would turn off but electrical would still be working. Also the power saver mode kicked in and we had to have the vehicle jumped.
Vehicle was southbound on county road and attempted to make a right turn at the intersection, when the car struck the south embankment of the t intersection, as driver was unable to navigate the turn. None of the side or front airbags in the car deployed as a result of the crash. I am also unsure if the seat belt had operated correctly (seat belt was being worn at the time of the crash). The driver's head hit the side window and as a result he sustained a head injury and an eye injury resulting in optic nerve damage and complete loss of vision in the eye. I understand there were problems with the airbags on these vehicles with a possible recall issued. I do have all the corresponding accident reports, medical reports, etc.
Rain leak into car, water pouring into frame and trapped in frame of car, roof of car. Water leaking out of airbag locations. When we drive, we can hear water moving around in frame, see water leaking out of airbag areas in frame of car. Water trapped inside frame of car, rotting inside of car, mold, mildew potential, fire hazard. GMC says they are not responsible for repairs, car no longer under warranty. How can I safely drive a vehicle in which both the airbags and electrical system is compromised??.
Water enters the interior of the vehicle as the sunroof drains continue to clog up and water falls on driver and driver side electrical fuses.
Car would not start and had to jump off. When I did this I went to turn off and had the key out and the car kept running for around a minute before finally stalling. Did this several times with the same result. I then took it to dealership. After a day they called and informed me that the windshield was allowing water in at the passenger side and fuse panel under glove box was full of water and corroded. They advised a new windshield as mine had a small star crack in it and needed to be resealed. That along with recommending a new fuse panel. They checked all drain lines for sunroof and said they were fine. Paid the bill for this at $799. 58 with assurance that water issue was fixed. Well one week later and the first rain since after sitting in light rain for 2 hours and driving 20 minutes I noticed water dripping into both floorboards from a post. I will be taking back to dealership tomorrow with them still not aknowledging anything about water problems.
There are many recalls on this vehicle. Did dealership says that they fix them and yet they're still not resolved. These issues include the electrical system, the airbag system, the stabilitrak system, issues with water leaking through the sunroof, l]]as well as water leaking into the interior lights. There are also issues with liftgate working correctly. All of these are issues with my Acadia. I need to know what to do to handle this properly. This car has turned into a death trap. I have been trying for years to get these things resolved. I have got to run around the entire time.
The passenger sensing system is not working properly. Sometimes it will indicate that it is on and other times it will indicate that it is off even when someone who weighs over 140 pounds sits on the passenger seat. It won't indicate that the person doesn't have their seatbelt on. Even if driving and person has been sitting, it won't turn on. If an accident occurs the airbags will not go off because it doesn't sense correctly.
The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was recently repaired under recall NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 84,000. Updated 08/19/lj.
While driving the car, I felt water drip from overhead and heard sloshing noises. Shortly thereafter, water began leaking from airbag indicia. Though the vehicle was turned off and key removed, the engine continued to run. Imagine how unsafe to turn off a vehicle, remove the key and the engine to remain running. Before I could get to service, the temperature plummeted to below zero, and I could not get the defroster to work. I scraped the interior of the windows, but without heat, fogged again. Zero visibility. The dealer said there were multiple points where water was seeping into the car, wreaking havoc with the electrical system, including hvac, defroster. Service tech said there was "blower mower" failure. After some research, I discovered my vehicle had same problems as GMC Acadia campaign 08207, with failure of sunroof part 25930220, which affected limited VIN numbers. We also discovered the airbags are not working from the water damage to the electrical system. The current status of this getting repaired is unknown -- obvious safety concerns! in addition, I had noticed floor mats being damp, but assumed a consequence of the snow and rain. I am convinced that the leak/damp floor mats is reason for the mildew/mold smell. Each of these problems are well documented in their tsbs. I was also shocked to find so many similar complaints! please, please review the correlation between tsbs electrical system failures and repairs to the leaking hose. Of course, GMC denies this is their problem, and says repairs will all be at my expense. Finally, I am not the first person to have this problem! surely, the fact that I (and many, many others) are having the exact leak problems as referenced in GMC campaign 08207 indicates that problem went beyond those VIN#s. They are hiding a big problem. Help!!.
Started the vehicle and immediately there was an air bag message warning message on the dash. There have already been many complaints regarding air bags on the NHTSA website with the same or similar issues. Hopefully you can issue a recall to force gm to make it right since they will not take responsibility. There is also is an active recall on 2007 models so I believe it is a known issue and there should be a recall on 2008 models as well. This being a safety issue that many Acadia owners are experiencing it definitely should be a recall. Water also leaks from the roof. It comes in contact with electrical systems including wiring components for the air bag. I wonder if that has something to do with the airbag warning message. A lot of people also mentioned how the power steering makes a loud whining noise. I have that problem as well. You can even feel it in the steering wheel because the noise is so loud it creates a vibration. I believe like there is a lack of responsibility on gm's part for not correcting known issues.
