Air Bag Light On Problems of GMC Acadia - part 1

I have experienced my airbag light going on for the last several years. Due to it being out of warranty, I took it to my personal mechanic to get it repaired. It turned out to be a harness under the driver seat. Less than a year later, it happened again and this time it was the harness located under the right front passenger seat. This has been replaced twice and the light has intermittently appeared again the past 3 months.

Service air bag light and msg is displaying. When driving the car sometimes shifts hard. Transmission fluid has been checked everything seems to be okay.

My passenger airbag light has been on since I got the car in March of 2020. I have just replaced my low beam headlights October of 2020 and now the driver side lights doesn't work. On the dashboard the light that's suppose to show when your bright's are on, doesn't come on anymore and I was in motion when I realized they had stopped working.

Timing chain/belt. SUV is making a loud rattle when turning vehicle on. I got this issue "fixed" last yea right at 79,000 miles. Warranty paid for it. 20,000 miles late I am having the same issue again, rattle noise, engine light on, air bag light is on. It worries that this will be a major if it gives out while I am driving with my kids.

Within the last week, my service air bag light came on and then would go off, either while driving or sitting. I could be driving down the road, the light would come on, stay on for a minute, go off for a minute and come back on. It did this for several days. Now the service air bag light stays on all of the time. The vehicle has not been in a crash.

The service air bag light just came on this GMC has been well maintained and clean no damage at all to the car it just came on , I googled it and have seen complaints apon complaints about it but nothing done I put my children and girlfriend and myself in this car and it makes me sick to my stomach now to know the airbag or something is wrong.

Air bag light is on, the vehicle hasn't been in any accident. Sometimes the light will go off for a couple of days and then come back on, seems there should be a recall for this problem.

The contact was informed that the wiring underneath the front driver's seat was loosened and needed to be adjusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

The service airbag light has came on since I bought the vehicle last month and passenger side airbag wont turn on.

The service air bag light come on in the dash when the passenger seat is moved in or sat in a certain area. This happens when the car is moving or sitting still.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. When the contact opened any of the vehicle doors, the interior lighting flickered on and off. Also, while driving various speeds, the stabilitrak and service brake system warning indicators illuminated intermittently. The contact also mentioned that an obd code reader discovered that the passenger air bags were defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. The contact associated NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v118000 (air bags) and 10v240000 (electrical system) with the failures. The failure mileage was 156,000.

Service air bag light has been going on and off for a couple weeks. As of 4 days ago it has been on and stayed on. I've been told that it has something to do with the sensor in the seat and from research it looks like this is a very common problem in this vehicle.

Started the car on a rainy day and the airbag light came on and a message displayed "service air bag". I turned the car off and started the car again and the message and airbag light stayed on. I have searched several forms where several consumers are having this same issue.

Airbag wiring short repaired under NHTSA recall 14v118 on sept 30, 2014. Then sept 13, 2019 airbag light goes on again and dealer had to repair same airbag wiring. Dealer and GMC refused to honor original recall and stated that the recall was only for one repair of this wiring and not for second repair of same wiring problem.

My lift gate door fell and hit me in the head out of no where and my car is not on the list for the recall for that exact problem. My airbag indicator goes off all the time even if no one is in the front seat. My speedometer barely works, it goes completely around and I can't get it to reset. I took it to the shop just to be told it's a sensor that causes it along with the slow cranking but they didn't know which one it was because my car has 4.

The air bag light is on now and in the dash is saying check your airbag service no issues before.

Check airbag light keeps coming on. The sensor has the passenger airbag continuously deactivated, even when there is a passenger.

The serivice air bag light remains on even following the required service under gm bulletin no. : 14030 which was performed prior to my purchase of the vehicle. My local dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that the recall was completed by another dealer, however it looked as if an amateur has done it. They felt that they could ask gm to cover a repair again, however gm denied it. The vehicle is not working as it should following recall service, and one of gms own dealers has stated that the previous repair is not satisfactory. Recalls repairs that fail should be required to be fixed again.

I have approximately 67000 mile on my car and today the service air bag light came on off and on I will put fuel and and the gauge still reads empty or half tank takes restarting car many times before reads accurately also passenger seat belt alarm will go off when no one is in the passenger seat.

Also, the contact stated that the air bag service indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

I started noticeing when I open my glove box or had someone seating in the passager seat my airbag light would turn on with the engine running. The light would turn on and beep stating service air bag. The light would sometimes stay on or turn off. Once I took my Acadia to the dealership and they ran a bunch of test. At first they couldn't determine what the problem was. They determine it was the airbag and that it needed to be replaced. The back seat fastener on the middle seat failed to lock the buckle in place. Had to replace this.

The passenger seat seatbelt and airbag lights come on when no one is in the seat, or when something very light, such as a coke can is in the seat. This can happen at any point during a trip, and I have to buckle the seatbelt to stop the warning bell. It makes me nervous that the seat is so sensitive, and I fear the airbag may be sensitive as well. I make my daughter sit in the back, because I'm concerned for her safety. The vehicle can be stationary or in motion when this happens. It used to happen randomly, but it's been happening even if nothing is in the seat the last four days. There has been no recall on my vehicle.

Since I purchased the vehicle the service air bag light has been on, now the transmission hot idle engine light is popping on and also service the traction control light and service stabilitrak ligt is coming on. Me my family had taken a vacation to florida and the transmission began to startle all the way back to tennessee leaving us in a devastated situation . I was hoping there was a recall on the transmission and and air bags this is very dangerous as many others has complained about the same issues in the past concerning their 2008 Acadia vehicles this vehicle was in motion on a city expressway with a high volume of fast moving traffic. I went to auto zone and o' reilly auto parts to have check engine test and the following codes appeared dtc p2762 torque converter clutch,p0700 automatic transmission control,p0171 fuel control system. And computer error. I don't know if this vehicle ever me recall but I feel me my family could have been severely injured as the fast moving vehicle was coming behind us as our vehicle lost power and connection.

Starting vehicle air bag light came on and stays on.

My transmission has been acting up since 50,000 miles a/c acting up since 70,000 miles air bag light keeps coming on dealership wants to charge me for warranty work one dealership refuse to work on my car.
