1 Clutch problem of the 2008 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 10/18/2007

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The vehicle was parked in the driveway, but the gear was placed in drive. The contact removed his foot from the brake pedal and depressed the accelerator pedal. The vehicle then accelerated in reverse on its own. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the acceleration was normal. The GMC area representative stated that when driving 6 mph, the engine shuts off to prevent the transmission from being damaged, thus the vehicle driving in reverse. The dealer stated that since the vehicle was designed in that manner, nothing could be done. The current and failure mileages were 127. Updated 11/08/07.
