2017 GMC Acadia has �shift to park� error for the last 6 mths. Will not acknowledge the car is in park and will not turn car off completely. It has caused other issues with the car like battery/car hesitating to start in the morning. Also the radio/bluetooth not disconnecting after turning car off. You have. This is a long process to get the car to realize it is in park. After turning car on and off, shifting car out of park and back into park. And also wiggling the shift gear. This after knowing it is an on hoing issue for well over a year is still not a recall and they still have not made a fix for this.

My car has been leaking inside due to manufacturer defect with the seal of the windshield and in top and causing electrical issues for car one example transmission control module and etc.

I have a 2017 Acadia. When the car is shifted into park, the dashboard shows a warning that says "shift to park" even though the car is already in park. I have to turn the car off and on several times and slam the shifter into park until the car finally registers that it's in park. . If I leave the car like that, all the electrical stuff stays on and my battery will die. Additionally, when this happens, the car is not in park and seems to be in gear or at least in neutral because it will roll. This is a safety hazard and happens on a daily occurrence.

The steering two days prior to the incident was really tight and hard to steer as is there were no power steering the vehicle two days later broke down on the interstate I went from 70mph to 30mph within seconds was almost rear ended the seat belt jerked my shoulder it jerked so hard when the engine reduced power due to what the message on the dash said was a traction control system failure I spent 1600 getting the power steering pump, water pump and what they said was a loose wire causing th traction control problem fixed just for the car to break down again with the same traction control system failure message the car slowed down so quickly I hit the steering wheel with my seat belt on and the breaks were very hard to push I had to crawl to a stop almost got rear ended again and no steering this car is not safe there should be a law suit.

It has been since I bought the vehicle . . . Gas gauge is intermittent and cross traffic alerts go off randomly (with no traffic or obstructions) paint has had to be redone leather replaced trim redone etc. . . The car almost killed me and my children, I'm driving down the freeway at 70mph and suddenly I lost control of the vehicle it slowed down to 49 then 25 lost steering and able to drift to the side before the whole vehicle started shaking violently and I shut it down as I believed it would explode (I was terrified) I called a dealer and they asked if I turned it off and on again ? engine light came on traction control would not renegade and message said decreasing power to engine while it was happening and abs light on . . . All failures. . . Managed to get to destination but vehicle was sluggish and jumping gears felt really jerky. . . 4th start all lights disappeared and although car was still sluggish figured might have been an electrical fault made appointment for dealership told it would cost . . . Parker car drove other vehicle then had to use this one and same thing happened again so took to dealership they couldn't figure out the codes was told had broken engine mount (said it was on backorder as it's been happening a lot) and was sent on my way to see if it would happen again. That weekend it happened again had figured out by then that 5-7 starts it would act up. Took to dealership and left running so they could see what was wrong (failed transmission, steering column block pump sensor etc replaced. Was given a rental GMC by herts and you guess it same thing on freeway all the lights on the dash start lighting up failed traction eas and breaks (super scary brand new only 600 miles on that car) switched out vehicle for a safer car (Toyota) I'm unable to check more boxes but speed and control were also affected.

I bought my car at the end of April. June 27. 2019 was the first time that I had the stabilitrak issue. At 102206 miles, took it to the dealership and was told it was the rr and rf speed sensors and right front and right rear passenger wheel bearings. Today September 9, 2019 and at 103003 miles it happened again. I was driving both times, and both times the brakes grind and I could feel looseness in the gas petal and it squeaks like an old spring bed. I am a disabled veteran and I only use the car to get to va appts, grocery store and general errands. I can't afford to spend another $1,200 to get this fixed. I have read online many of the same complaints. There seems to be an issue with this stabilitrak system and no one seems to know what to do to fix it. Please let me know what steps will be taken to fix this issue before I contact a lemon law lawyer.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled, all the gauges zero out and all the warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, they got 18 different error codes. The vehicle then was towed to the dealer moore Buick/GMC, 2445 n marine blvd, jacksonville, nc 28546, they were not able to diagnosed the vehicle. The vehicle was blowing fuses everytime the key was turned in the ignition switch. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and still at he dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 166,000. Bp.

Keeps telling me to put vehicle in park when it's already in park. Also not consistent about telling you to check back seat. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn�t. It's turned on.

GMC Acadia "shift to park". The suvs fail to detect when the gear shift lever is moved to park. The dash board showa a message on the instrument clusters that says shift to park even though the gear shift levers are already in park. In addition to losing the ability to shut off and lock the suvs, I was unable to turn the SUV off after attempting to do so serveral times.

About a month ago my car started losing power when driving. It often happens when entering or exiting the highway. The last time it happened was yesterday on the highway off ramp. The car loses power and a message comes on saying service stabilitrak traction control off engine power reduced, the engine idles rough and I cannot get back up to speed. I have to stop the car completely, turn it off and wait 20-30 seconds then turn it back on. I have taken the twice to the dealer and they cannot find a problem.

A few days before my girlfriend left with the SUV out of state I noticed the electric door lock (only on the passenger front door) was back to manual. Than the same day of trip it started working again, but on her way back she called me to say the light came on for service stabilitrak, and trac. Control off. It was also effecting the steering wheel making it jerk while going over 60mph on the highway making it a safety hazard. After reset jt was fine, but very alarming to continue to drive this SUV for years to come knowing it could pop up and safety issue at any given time. This needs to b addressed ASAP! sounds like a ground issue. SUV is 4 years old, and rust and corrosion free. Maybe gm made an error with interior mounted modules. Also the vehicle was coming out of a slowing traffic area on highway at the time (construction zone) when tring to catch back up to speed the vehicle reduced power. (limp mode) this seems to b a very common problem.

I was stopped at a red light at 6 mile and ryan rd detroit mi vehicle just cut off. After three or four tries it finally started and I had my daugther to follow me home and park it. I am afraid to drive it now. This happen 7/10/19 in am. Traction light was reading off.

The vehicle keeps saying "shift into park" when parked. Can not correctly shut the vehicle off or lock the doors all the dash stays lit up. Must run through the gears several times. Turning it off and on until it goes away.

After 2 years of ownership of a new GMC Acadia my SUV would not shut off once I parked my car. It would not be able to detect that I shifted into park after arriving at my destination. All the electronics would continue to run. I would have have to stay in the car and play with the shifter until the computer finally read that it was in park. After taking the car to the dealership the SUV was fixed with an new part that seems to have resolved the problem for now but as far as I am aware GMC is still doesn't know why the problem is being caused so I am waiting to see if it happens again. After getting it fixed now my vehicle gives me another warning every time my "auto engine off" is activated at when I come to a stop. Now I continuously get "stebilititrc" warning every time I stop. They fixed one problem and now I have another. It is my family car so I just want to make sure it is safe but GMC doesn't seem to know whats wrong or how to fix it even though they are aware of many Acadias having the same problem.

GMC Acadia will not register when the driver shifts the gears into park. An error message �shift to park� is shown on the dashboard even though the gear is in park. The driver is unable to turn the car off because of the error message. It takes several turns of switching the car on and off and flipping through all the gears in order for the message to disappear so that the car turns off. The car was taken to the dealer on June 26 for repairs and has been sitting there over a month because they are unable to correct the issue.

On separate occasions, both parked turned off and running down highway, the dash lights lit up and alarms chimed. Car wouldn't start, no cold a/c. The "service power steering" message displayed. Car didn't turn as well. Couldn't shift. After doing so for a about 2-3 minutes it would go back to normal. The attached photo was while driving down the road you'll notice it doesn't measure any rpm's however the car is moving about 40mph.

After filling up with gas the vehicle failed to start. My husband jumped the car off and once started the check engine light came on with an error code of p062f. Now, it happens randomly but is becoming more frequently in last week� it will fail to start then the check engine light will appear with the same error code, while driving at times it will begin to stall until the gas petal is engaged again. Per the GMC dealership it's the chassis electronic control module however my vehicle year model doesn't fall under the recall, by one year.

My service traction control and service stablilitrek comes on while I'm driving which is very because the car jerks when trying to drive at a certain speed. And when I go around a curve the stablilitrek active come on and the car makes a humming noise.

Takata recall upon shift into drive gear shits but read partially in park which makes vehicle stall in drive! computer states traction is off! button for tran toon does nothing! warning service stabilitytrak! car was parked overnight next day upon getting ready to leave I experienced the above!.

While in motion on a city or freeway approximately 35-70 mph, my GMC Acadia will randomly disable the steering assist, lane keep assist, and forward collision automatic braking as well as disable the cruise control feature. The error would show that these features were disabled on the display screen around the speedometer and could not manually be re-enabled with the buttons throughout the car. However, when pulling over and turning off the vehicle and restarting it, the feature would reset as if nothing has went wrong. Sometimes it will revert back to the same issue(s) 5-10 minutes later, and sometimes not at all for a few days or even weeks before starting back over again with the same problems.

I have approximately 67000 mile on my car and today the service air bag light came on off and on I will put fuel and and the gauge still reads empty or half tank takes restarting car many times before reads accurately also passenger seat belt alarm will go off when no one is in the passenger seat.

First of all, this issue is being reported by hundreds if not thousands of GMC Acadia owners. I received the "shift to park" message months ago while it still was under the 36,000 mile warranty and then it went away until last week. I got a "shift to park" message when I turned the vehicle off even though the gear was in the shift position. This caused a number of secondary issues that are now compromising the safety of the vehicle. Once I am able to turn the vehicle back on after it drains or kills the electrical system, I am getting a number of issues. However, the ones that concern me the most are the rolls even though the vehicle is in park, loss of power steering, loss of awd, loss of stabilitrack, loss of abs, braking system error and power surges. These are the most concerning but I am also having issues with my dashboard, navigation, and vehicle instruments. I called the GMC dealer who had no problem telling me the gear shift box needed to be replaced, not covered under warranty and they had no idea when they can fix it because it was on a national back order. What really disturbs me is that there are lawsuits going on dealing with this particular issue and that literally it compromises the safety of the vehicle and neither GMC or the NHTSA have acted on this. I was driving today and realized how dangerous it was to operate a vehicle under these conditions. You can literally be driving and the vehicle have a power surge which makes you lose control caused by a malfunction in the gear shift box. I am assuming that no one will due anything until several people are either killed or seriously injured. This issues has been reported on models going back to 2017 and here we are in 2019 and still have the issue. Please help us, this issue is happening to thousands of drivers and it is not being addressed by the NHTSA or GMC. Please recall or stop selling.

After I pull into my driveway and put my car in park and turn off the ignition the car gets stuck in park and wont shift back out for hours. Also when I'm driving the car states that the engine is in reduced power and the traction control is off and to service stabilitrak. This is a common problem with this vehicle of all years from 2007 to the present it needs to be fixed 6 deaths so far and still no recall to fix my car I dont want to end up being another death if you dont fix this issue.

While driving at highway speeds last week my 2012 awd Acadia having a major malfunction. 1. While driving, door locks engage/disengage 2. Trans appears to slip into neutral (high rev/ no power) 3. On the dashboard digital readout the transmission "blinked" into p from d (while driving) 4. Traction control engages/disengages and the vehicle lurches forward and hard stops 5. Trans enters some sort of limp home mode where it allows me to drive only up to 60mph, @4000 rpm (like 3rd gear) this process repeated continually for over an hour drive to the dealer, normal operation appeared to occur at speeds below 45mph, but only temporarily and the issue continued again at the lower speeds. I call onstar and they pull codes for me while enroute to the dealer: ecm code =u0101 tcm code= none (failed to probe module) abs code= u0101 abs code= c0561 (issue with traction control system)- "service within 7 days" a quick search in automotive forums reveals several other people with almost the exact same issue, with no specific solutions.

I need to get whatever has a recall for my car fix I ride my grandkids daily.

I bought my 2008 GMC Acadia and not long after the check engine light came on. It was the timing chain. I had the chevy dealership replace it which was almost $3000. 00. About a year and a half later it has gone out again. And I can't afford another $3000. 00. Now it's just sitting. Very up set about this.

When car is put into park a �action required� comes up saying �shift into gesr� which the vehicle is already in park. Therefore, will not shut off causing the battery to drain and die.

About 3 weeks ago, while driving on the highway, the entire dash blacked out for a few seconds, then would go thru checks as it would come back on. The morning I took it to dealer, the problem stopped. They could find nothing. Two days ago while driving very slow (maybe 10 mph) in heavy traffic the dash began going thru its checks again. I stopped and went into a gas station for a couple of mins, returned and could not unlock the front doors with my key fob. Got into the vehicle and it would not start, nor did it crank (no sound). After trying several times, it did start. O'reilly auto parts checked it and said that my starter was bad. They did not have one in stock. I returned to the car and when it finally started, the radio did not come on. After a few re-starts, the radio did come on. Researched the problem, and found a video on the same make and model that mentioned a recall. Checked my VIN, no recall, but vehicle is under warranty. Hopefully they will find the issue and fix the problem.

When I purchased the vehicle in less than an hour the check engine light, airbag light , tire pressure sensor popped on. The car would have a slow take off and shake as you accelerate on the city street. When I drive the freeway the car will hesitate and take 15 seconds before it switch gears to catch up to speed and jerk. The service airbag,service tire monitor system, service stabilitrak, service traction control alert messages are on the message console.

On March 22, 2019, I was driving home from work on rte. 130, again in the fast lane, I hear that famous beep again, but knew I did not require gas. My vehicle read to service stable track once again and traction control off. My truck dropped down to basically no power in the fast lane on a major highway. Thank god I said my prayers that day, and three cars that almost plowed into the back of my truck and any accidents were avoided. I was able to put on my hazard lights, once again, and make my way over to the shoulder of the highway and was able to get my truck into a shopping center parking lot. I had the gas pedal all the way down to the floor, but my truck was moving at about 10 miles per hour�. Nowhere!! I was scared but relieved because it could have been worse. I could have caused a major accident, or even been hurt. I contacted my dealership t&t coast in sea girt, and expressed to them my problem. I told them I just had this stable track/sensor replaced just a year ago, I should not be facing the same issue. They made false promises, promised to get me into a more reliable vehicle, but it did not work out due to my current credit issues. I ask if they could not get me into a more reliable truck, could they at least fix the issue that I thought was just repaired by the service department. They told me no, it was my issue because of the high mileage on the car. I have learned that a stable track/sensor or traction control is supposed to last the life span of your vehicle. It should not go due to wear and tear or high mileage. I also did additional investigation on my end, and learned that GMC has been having this same issue with many other customers, along with electrical issues.

While driving, the stabilitrak service message came on, then tracktion control displayed. The car then stalled, while doing 70 on the freeway. Almost got killed trying to get to the right lane. Had to turn off ignition (and open the door to kill the electrical circuit) to reset the car to drive it. The car also does this at idle. It will randomly mis-shift and feel like a chain was hooked to my bumper and broke off. Super scary, life in danger for sure. This has happened 3 times in the last 24 hours. I just bought the car 5 days ago.

Ist time-car stationary-started car and it started shaking-tractionary control warning came on-turned car off-waited a few minutes and turned it on and it was fine -the next day after driviing 250 miles it happened again after stopping for a toll booth-the car shut down with the same warning-after two tries it started and we drove to a Chevrolet dealer and they replaced the throttle body.

Car would not start no inter lights dead towed to dealer they fixed it once I had back for one day it happened agin needs a side dentition module I have been waiting for over 5 weeks and nothing no parts.

This has been the most unsafe car I have ever owned. I can not even trade it in the get a safer car. We have come so close to having many accidents with this car. The steering just freezes up the engine will just shut down will driving. We have had the transmission replaced once and not it needs replaced again. We are not hard on our cars. . I just hope it does not come down to having a accident before someone sees how bad this car is. . This happens off and on all the time hard to put the dates and times down when this happens, we take into a dealer and it does not happen with them or the cost is just crazy.
