The contact owns a 2021 GMC Acadia. The contact stated they had the remedy of a software update completed due to being included in NHTSA campaign number: 22v709000 (back over prevention) . After having the remedy completed the vehicle's lane departure assist system had failed and was no longer alarming the driver when the vehicle was drifting to other lanes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who completed the software update, who were unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,700.
