3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2019 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 12/07/2019

We bought our 2019 Acadia with 4 miles on it. Just last weekend, the fuel gauge started keeping an inaccurate account of our fuel level including making the low fuel beeping to happen while driving. We pulled over, restarted the car, and we were back to half a tank. When I fueled up today, the gauge will not go all the way over to full and keeps sending the error messages/beeps. It only has 23,770 miles on it. We've never let it run out of fuel either. The dealership said there's not a recall on it so I wanted to let our problem by known!.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 06/20/2018

I had to have my car brought in for a check engine light. After the dealer did a full test, they narrowed it down to the gas tank area. It was a fuel module broken at the flange and also they recommended the fuel sensor to be replaced because they have been noticing a lot of vehicle coming in with the sensor going bad. The dealer also informed me that the 2008 Acadia's have a design flaw in the gas tank and there is a chance in the future it may need to be replaced, but for now the tank looks really good.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 03/01/2017

Today with the fuel gauge showing 1/2 tank full, my Acadia ran out of gas and I was forced to the side of the road. I have seen recalls for other year models for this exact problem, but the year my Acadia is does not matter to gm. This is a very serious problem that could cause a severe accident. Gm's recall number is 14007. In the affected vehicles, the engine control module (ecm) software may cause the fuel gauge to read inaccurately. An inaccurate fuel gauge may result in the vehicle unexpectedly running out of fuel and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash. They know there is a problem why not fix it.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 04/14/2016

Fuel take indicator fluctuates not giving an accurate reading of actual gas in tank. It will read 3/4 tank and after turning off and back on again it will read on "e". We do not park on a hill we have a flat driveway/garage. This happens anywhere I go. I have almost ran out of gas numerous times because of this.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 11/17/2015

Highway, vehicle in front kicked up a backpack unable to avoid, when speed was lowered, odor of gasoline noticed, stopped, fuel tank leaking, towed to nearest dealer. Photo attached.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

My fuel gauge is reading empty and the miles left is not working. Even though I have gas in the tank.

10 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 05/15/2015

My fuel gauge occasionally registers as empty even after I fill the gas tank. This typical happens if I let the fuel go below 1/4 tank. This has happened since the first 30,000 miles and I was told by the dealership there was no recall or safety alert for this condition. It gradually goes up as I drive. It is my understanding this is a common problem with this vehicle and model year.

11 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 02/03/2015

While driving my 2011 Acadia the low fuel light came on, I go to fill up and there's 3/4 of a tank still full. The next morning I still had a low fuel reading and now a serivce engine light. This has happened multiple times since. This problem with the fuel and/or computer systems causing a false low fuel reading and service engine light has been recalled on other year models, but not 2011. Is there something that can be done to expand the recall? or will GMC correct the issue because it has been recalled on other year models?.

15 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 10/14/2013

Since the day I drove my Acadia off the lot there has been a "click" that occurs which sounds like it is coming from the engine that can be felt under the gas pedal when the vehicle is about to shift into 2nd gear, but only immediately after starting the vehicle and never again when switching between 1st and 2nd gear until it has been turned off and restarted. The noise it makes sounds like a marble rolling on a wooden floor for about 1-2 seconds and then click and then the gear shifts. The dealer said they didn't hear anything but I do as well as other passengers do every day. Additionally, when turning the vehicle at a slow rate of speed and then accelerating, the engine slams into gear when between 10-15 mph but only after a turn and an attempt at acceleration. Also, my Acadia is not a vehicle under the "faulty gas gauge" recall however once my vehicle is below 1/4 tank the needle on the gas gauge will jump from 1/8 tank to 1/16, back up to 1/8 of a tank all while driving on flat roadways. Concurrently, the range for the fuel on the digital screen goes from 95 to 58 to 72 all while driving with cruise control on at a consistent speed. Lastly, the vehicle has the denali grill which leaves minimal airflow from the engine compartment. Up to three hours after turning the vehicle off (in a cool garage) you can still feel the heat coming from the engine compartment if you place your hand in front of the grill. Could this be a possible fire hazard? all of these issues began when I purchased the vehicle with 60 miles on it and continue now at 15,500 miles. I drive frequently and can tell you that I do not feel safe in my vehicle but am unsure what to do as the dealer has told me there is nothing wrong with it. The only recall for my vehicle is the seatbelt issue but I think there are serious engine problems with this vehicle that need to be addressed by gm.

16 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 09/30/2013

I was driving to go meet my husband for lunch when all of a sudden my vehicle started to jerk and turned off. I turned out of traffic onto the first side street I found. Onstar found my location and sent a tow truck. Despite my vehicle reading I had 1/4 tank of as, I had actually ran out of gas. I have never ran out of gas in a vehicle. Several other times my gas hand would read inaccurately. For instance, my hand might show 1/2 tank of gas, but all of a sudden it would jump to 3/4 tank of gas. Despite having my vehicle repaired 4 different times for the fuel issue, the dealership says that mine is not being recalled. I decided to add my issue with the vehicle because I believe, like some of the other complainants, that gm is still hiding what is truly wrong with these vehicles. This whole situation is sad because I use this vehicle to drive my children to school. I think gm is still not doing the right thing by their customers. I have other electrical issues with this vehicle. For instance, just last week my navigation system wouldn't come on. After pulling over and turning the vehicle off and then back on again, it started working again. I 've had this happen also when trying to use my trunk and bluetooth. I also have an issue with the fact that gm thought the problem was so significant that they issued a stop delivery on the 2014 Acadia due to the fuel issue and other problems including the seatbelt, but they do not think it is significant enough of a problem for people who already own a 2014 Acadia to stop driving it. I think gm needs to think about the safety of its customers and families and be truthful about the recalls and what is really wrong with these vehicles.

17 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Started noticing the gas gauge wasn't accurate. I started out with 1/4 tank of gas and drove not even a mile and the low fuel light came on and the needle was on empty. Panicked and drove to the nearest gas station and I pulled up to the pump and my gas reappeared. Another time I filled the tank and drove approximately 5 miles and it went from full to 3/4 of a tank. Went in the store, came out and started it and it was full again. This has happened several times and once resulting in running out of gas although it showed there was gas. I now reset the mileage to zero when I fill up and know how many miles I should get to the tank and refuel. I spoke to the service advisor at my dealership and he told me it was a new fuel system gm was using and there wasn't a resolution for it. There has to be a resolution to this!.

18 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

On several occassion after driving the vehicle for several minutes, gas gauge fluxes from 1/2 tank to empty with yellow warning light becoming engage, after shutting it off and turning back on the gauge goes back to normal, this is happening all the time and has been looked at by a certifed GMC dealer. Dealer did state that there was a letter out about this problem but the current way of solving it is not working.

19 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 07/09/2012

Beginning about 4 months after I bought the vehicle, the fuel guage began to malfunction. The guage fluctuates from half full to empty. Many times the guage shows 1/4 to empty but the tank is empty. I have run out of gas numerous times (at least 10 times) over the last 2 years because the guage shows I have gas and the tank is empty. Took it to the dealer on numerous ocassions and the dealer said they checked it but found no problem. This is a dangerous situation when traveling on the freeway at high speed and I lose all power steering and brakes. I now have to fill up the tank when the guage reads half empty to avoid running out of gas. The gauge is completely unreliable.
