GMC C1500 owners have reported 2 problems related to exterior rearview mirror (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The switch for the remote control outside mirrors caught fire. Ruining the switch, associated harness and the door panel. I have discussed this with my dealer quoting NHTSA campaign number 03v093000. He refuses to honor the recall saying my VIN was not included in the recall. I hope this complaint will help getting my vehicle included in the recall.

Rear view mirror on passenger's side has a blind spot due to mirror having straight glass, and has no protective covering which prevents consumer from having a clear picture of oncoming traffic. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer noted problem but had no solution to correct problem.
