GMC C1500 owners have reported 5 problems related to windshield wiper/washer motor (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The wipers do not always work. There seems to be a short of some kind in the system. I can get them to work by manually moving them sometimes. Also I'm having a problem with the brake lights working. I have replaced the tail light assembly twice. Again it seems to be a short in the system, they work on and off, its very dangerous.

The windshield wiper fail intermittently while being used. Dealer has been contacted. Nlm consumer heared a buzzing noise when trying to activate the windshield wiper. Contact manufacturer and manufacturer stated that this vehicle was outside the range of VIN. #.

Windshield wipers will stop working during intermittent setting with out warning. Sometimes the wipers will not turn off. Sometimes the wipers will stop and the blades will be in the line of sight causing a major distraction.
Automatic transmission slams into gear recently, changed fluid helped for a couple of months - windshield wiper motor works when it feels like it - fuel gauge has not worked since 1999 and other people I know have the same problems with their general motor trucks.
