Two problems related to instrument panel have been reported for the 2002 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I had the electrical cluster on my 2002 GMC Envoy XLT replaced in July of 2009 due to the gas gauge fluctuation. I was informed that I had a bad electronic cluster that was covered under my extended warrenty. It was replaced. Now it is doing the same thing again. I took the car to the dealership where they informed me that the fuel level sensor had gone bad. After paying 462. 00 for the repair the gas gauge is still fluctuating.
The contact owns a 2002 GMC Envoy xl. While driving 70 mph, smoke appeared from the vents on the dashboard. The contact stopped the vehicle and called the police. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the panel cluster gauge melted. The powertrain was unknown. The current mileage was 97,000 and failure mileage was 96,000.
