Four problems related to seats have been reported for the 2002 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The steering is a little sporadic at speeds 70 or higher or chachi. There is a lot of play in the steering mechanism you have to hold it with both hands to try to get some type of correction in the in the stability of the vehicle. I can't upload photographs or something I I don't know anything about.
When applying the brakes the drivers seat moves forward with a slight rocking motion.
A day after replacing the battery, while driving, the driver seat started readjusting and heating on its own so I turned on air conditioner to compensate since I had no idea what to do about the seat while driving. When I did, rear passengers said the rear vents started blowing heat, and a strange clicking noise was heard in the right rear panel, so I shut off the air, opened the windows and clicking and heat subsided. However, the drivers seat continued to readjust and heat throughout my trip and the right rear window had to be pushed up manually once stopped because the electric opener for that window was no longer working.
Transmission does not work properly. Have had it repaired twice, but still vibrates, and fails to move vehicle forward at times, from a dead stop. Is very dangerous at intersections where moving quickly is imperative. Also wiring problems which operate various remote instruments (mirrors, seats, etc. ) fear of fire. Rear door latch was replaced - clicks "locked/unlocked" while driving. Seats move on their own while driving.
