Hatchback/liftgate problems of the 2004 GMC Envoy

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy xuv. While attempting to utilize the liftgate, it failed to operate. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

On June 3, 2008 the contact had the rear end gate controller, the lower end gate hatch accelerator and the left upper hatch accelerator repaired, and the failure had returned. The dealer stated that the parts had broken again. The contact feels this is a safety issue because items fall out of the vehicle on the highway when the hatch opens.
