Fuel Injector problems of the 2006 GMC Envoy

One problem related to fuel injector has been reported for the 2006 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Injector problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2011

About three months ago the fuel gauge, after filling the tank, would read empty for a period of time. Then the gauge would read full, then it would go back to empty. This would continue for a short period of time and eventually the correct (I assumed) level would be shown until the next fill up. As time has passed, it takes longer for the gauge to finally settle down and read normally. I have now received a letter from GMC stating they are aware of the problem and will pay for half the repair cost. My question is that if this is a premature failure, as the letter states, why GMC is not responsible for 100% of the cost. The letter also states that the fuel level shown may read more than the actual level. Could lead to running out of fuel on the interstate, getting in an accident trying to get off the road, and/or injector damage.
