Wind shield wipers would go on . Now they won't go off. Engine light wont go off feels like the car is going to stall out. Mechanic said it will get worse and will start stalling out. I see a lot of complaints on these cars about the same thing I have going on. My gas gauge wont work. I brought my car for the recall for the drivers door last year and now my keys won't unlock the doors. Only the remote will open it. When I called about the doors and windows not working they said my VIN wasn't under recall I called you and you got it fixed for me. I think they need to check the electrical problems on the Envoys. I have the same complaints so something is wrong with these vehicle.
I was driving down a hill at approximately 45 miles per hour, when suddenly my Envoy just shut off. The vehicle did not accelerate when I pressed on the gas, so I pulled into the first side road to avoid being stuck on a main roadway and when I turned, I had a difficult time turning because the vehicle was off, actually I turned into the wrong side of the road ( thank god there was no incoming traffic). I let my Envoy glide as far as it would go until I felt it was some what safe. Parked the Envoy, then tried to turn it back on, the engine would turn over, but would not turn on. I had the towing CO. Stop at autozone to look into the lit check engine light and they came up with code p0463, failed fuel sending unit. This was a very scary situation for I could of gotten into a fatal accident!!!.
Gas gauge reading was sporadic and finally went to empty with the out of fuel warning light and out of fuel warning buzzer on.
Fuel gauge fluctuates between full and empty. Gauge does not show fuel levels.
Low fuel warning light does not come on. - this is the third time that I nearly ran out of fuel without any warning. The engine stalled; however, I was able to restarted it and there was just enough fuel for me to limp into a gas station.
My 2006 GMC Envoy fuel level guage has started reading empty after filling with fuel. I have been using my odometer to keep track of miles since last fill up. It has been giving sporatic readings and can not be trusted. This could cause a dangerous situation if I was to run out of gas in traffic or on some loney road in the country at night. Gm is aware of this situation but is only offering to pay 50% at their exorbinate service rates.
Fuel gage is faulty as it provides inaccurate and random fuel level readings while driving.
Air bag warning light on. Fuel gauge sensor malfunction.
Fuel gauge problem - GMC Envoy.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy denali. The contact stated that after refueling, the fuel gauge displayed a reading of empty and the check engine light illuminated. The fuel gauge had since constantly displayed inaccurate readings. The contact replaced the fuel cap, but the failure continued. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed, but the contact received a letter from the manufacturer acknowledging that they were aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I bought a use 2006 GMC Envoy denali with 69,000 mile in June 2010, by July I was replacing the air shocks on the right side of the vechicle. On about 7/28/2011 on the beltway where the speed limit is 65 I was in the far left lane approaching a left hand exit when my car staled, I had run out of gas with no indication. I wait over a hour for someone to come put gas in my truck at about 100 degree tempature. I later ran out of gas on a back road coming to my house at night. Again no indicator light came on to let me know I was low on gas. Not the gas gauge floats between fuel and empty contionusly. This was a very dangeous and scary situation both times. I flasher were on the whole time and I had to change the battery. Now the air will not come out of the vents only the floor and defrost. But the most important thing is the gas gauge, I could have me involved in an accident both time.
2006 GMC Envoy fuel gauge not working correctly.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact was stopped at a red light when the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated the vehicle stalled due to the lack of fuel in the vehicle however, he was unaware of the lack of fuel in the vehicle. Fuel gauge not recording properly. Fluctuates from empty to full.
The gas gauge on my 2006 GMC Envoy always registers at "e. " I have talked to GMC and there is no help with this situation though there have been hundreds of complaints on the same thing. When I called customer service they were rude to me and didn't give me a customer complaint number. I am having to gage my gas by keeping track of the mileage through the trip-ometer. Thank you for any assistance you can give me on this issue.
2006 Envoy denali check engine light came on fuel gauge stopped working properly. Dealer says it is the sending unit. If this is common shouldn't there be a recall.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy denali xl. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The fuel gauge also fluctuated between empty and full andwould not provide an accurate reading. The dealer was informed of the fialure and the contact was awaiting a service appointment. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The current mileage was approximately 56,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
GMC Envoy 2006 fuel gauge bad reading, my car ran out gas when the fuel gauge show full.
My fuel gauge is now always on empty stalled right at the gas station my blower for heating and air only works on 3 of 5 levels.
The fuel gauge reads empty after fill ups.
Fuel gauge has not worked for approximately 18-24 months; must use trip meter to determine number of miles traveled for calculation of next fill-up. Low fuel indicator light is always on. Engine indicator light appears upon each refill and eventually goes off after a number of miles are traveled. Current odometer reading: 75,314.
Gas guage not operating properly.
The fuel guage reads empty and the fuel light comes on when there is gas in the Envoy. This started a few weeks ago and I never know how much gas is in the Envoy.
Hello, I want to file a complaint about my 2006 GMC Envoy. I've recently been having issues with my fuel gauge, when I fill up my gauge says I'm empty and then slowly creeps back up to full, however, it then fluctuates between full and empty and never gives an accurate reading. I feel this can cause a huge issue for people if they don't know their gauge isn't accurate.
Problem with my gas gauge in just turned 40,000 mi. Add fuel light comes on even after fill up. Also gauge goes back and forth during operation of the car. When the gauge hits empty a bell goes off and the low fuel light goes on. Eventually the check engine light will also go on indicating there is an issue. Very concerned about breaking down and consider it a personal safety issue. Local GMC dealer has no clue there was a problem with gas gauges. Tried to ignore the problem but just got worse decided to get it fixed $900.
I have a 06 Envoy denali it started with the check engine light being on, I was told by a mechanic that it needs to be reprogramed which worked until I drove a few miles then came on again. . Then my fuel indicator stop working stays on e when I fuel up. Now the other day I lost power in my gas peddle(read low pressure) then the car died. It started up but didn't have enough power in the peddle. Waiting for mechanic to look at it.
2006 GMC Envoy ran out of gas on a busy road going to work while the gas gauge read that there was gas in the vehicle.
I read in the newspaper that the NHTSA had opened an investigation concerning 2006 GMC Envoy gas gauge problems. I have the same problem as many others with the gauge fluctuating. This should be considered a safety issue since it could cause someone to be stranded. I have 53000 miles on my Envoy and this problem started about a month ago.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy xl. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was inoperable and she was unable to determine how much gas was actually in the vehicle causing her to run out of gas intermittently. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and no repairs were performed. The current mileage was 95,100 and the failure mileage was 94,000.
Fuel gauge started acting up and going from full to empty. Within days it completely quit working and now shows empty when full. The check engine light also came on.
I own a 2006 Envoy. I have had several incidents of my vehicle shutting down while driving. Each time the road service indicated that my vehicle was out of fuel even though the fuel gauge read I had more than a sufficient amount. Even after they put fuel in my vehicle it wouldn't start without a boost. This happened twice when I was on the freeway which is very dangerous. Due to my financial situation I haven't been able to get this problem fixed.
Fuel system/gas gauge sensor failed while driving the vehicle. The failure is ongoing, as a result I have run out of gas 3 times with my small children. . . Once in the left lane of a very busy road where I was almost rear-ended several times (speed limit on road was 55 mph). There is no warning when you are getting ready to run out of gas I. E. The low gas light is on constantly and the reminder signal does not go off. I try to gauge when I need to get gas based on miles I have driven but mileage varies depending on the type of driving that you are doing so the number of miles you get per gallon can vary greatly. All 3 times that I have run out of gas I was on my way to get gas. I have not replaced this part because it is a costly repair. In addition, I believe that this is a GMC/Chevrolet faulty system. I had a 1997 Chevrolet blazer and the same thing happened with the gas gauge. I also know of at least 4 other people who have GMC/Chevrolet suvs and have had this same system failure.
I own a 2006 GMC Envoy. The gas gauge is reading empty even when it is full. I have researched this and found many people are having the same issue. I feel that this is a safty hazourd because if I run out of gas while driving it could result in a rear end collision. Not to mention that this car is new and shouldnt have these type of issues.
We own a 2006 GMC enovy. About two months ago, the fuel gauge started bouncing back and forth between empty and full. It didn't matter how much fuel was actually in the vehicle. The fuel gauge has become useless.
