Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problems of the 2006 GMC Envoy

1 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2022

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that the vehicle was not able to start. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic informed the contact that no codes appeared on the code reader and replaced the battery; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the computer needed to be reset after the battery was replaced. The dealer reset the computer; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and diagnosed that there was a leak in the intake manifold after a smoke test was performed. The dealer replaced the manifold gasket; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2012

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised the contact that the engine was running lean and they were unable to make repairs until the component had actually failed. The manufacturer was later contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000. Updated 05/08/lj the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. 3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2011

Fuel gauge is not working properly, it will continously move from empty to full. ** 2nd complaint- I have had the engine rebuilt because of" intake manifold assembly failure" the part # is gm 12571609 and has failed twice. The last repair was 4-29-2011 the first repair was 9-15-2010 same part same problem. This repair cost was $3500. 00.
