Two problems related to instrument panel have been reported for the 2007 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I had been driving for about ten minutes when the security light on my instrument panel came on. This is the light indicating the passlock system had initiated. My steering wheel locked up so that I could not turn it at all, and the car began decelerating quickly on its own.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy 360. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact began to smell smoke. He noticed the smoke coming from the passenger side instrument panel. He pulled the vehicle over and called 911. By the time the fire department arrived, the passenger compartment was engulfed in flames. There were no injuries. The fire department stated that the cause of the fire was electrical due to the instrument panel. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was 28,000.
