The check stabilitrak light keeps coming on causing the check engine light to come on causing Envoy to loose power. While driving. Second issue is the drivers door started acting up didn't want to go up and now will not do anything causing the entire system to not lock and work the mirrors or anything electrical from the door panel.

The steering is a little sporadic at speeds 70 or higher or chachi. There is a lot of play in the steering mechanism you have to hold it with both hands to try to get some type of correction in the in the stability of the vehicle. I can't upload photographs or something I I don't know anything about.
Brake lights stopped working; the light bulbs work, but when you push in the breaks neither back brake lights come on. The only working break light is the middle top one. This is very dangerous.

Steering wheel locks. It cannot be turned to the right as it will cause the entire care to swerve. When reversing the car turns in the opposite direction of where you are turning. I'm backing into traffic and have to manually pull the steering wheel as if there is a power steering issue. Engine light came on day after purchase indicating I need catalyst converter and sensor. No way to predict which way the car will turn. If I hit a bump the car swerves to the right causing me to swerve into next lane. In motion I am constantly swerving into danger.

The window master control on the driver side was getting hot.
The dash cluster does not work correctly, all the lights turn on and doors lock while I am driving on in town or on the highway , all the gauges come on at once while driving on the streets at random times. . The rear has airbags in the suspension and and aren't working properly, I took it to the shop and they said it had 30 codes on the diagnostic machine but they couldn't find the problem.

My husband and I were traveling when the vehicle shut off with no warning at all and all the dash board lights came on. The vehicle would not restart but would turn. This happened Saturday 9/2/17 on a country highway out in nowhere . We called a tow truck. Thank god for cellphones. On 11/12/2016 hub bearings replaced. 11/15/16 module and connector replaced and fuel level sensors and ring replaced. Three years ago a/c went out. Replaced.
This is the same problem we are having is there a recall on this and what do we do about bought it second hand, was told it wouldnt hurt it for these lights to be on, has same problem described below, in motion when turning steering wheel left or right February 18, 2010 NHTSA id number: 10311697 components: traction control system, electronic stability control, electrical system NHTSA id number: 10311697 incident date January 10, 2009 consumer location dacula, GA vehicle identification number 1gkds13sx62**** summary of complaint crashno fireno injuries0 deaths0 service stabilitrak light and service abs lights are on. Horn no longer works.
This is a very unsafe vehicle. I purchased it for my husband and have seldom drove until recently when he was injured driving it. He drove through our garage and demolished it. I how drive it and find the brake and gas pedals the worst problem. No matter what shoes or boots you are wearing you cannot control the vehicle. It has cost us thousands in damage and repairs. I do not have pictures, but will obtain them and forward them. The car was just pulling up to be parked outside by out garage when the problem occured. The weather was fine-August 2017. It was just getting dark. This vehicle should be taken off the road ASAP until it is repaired or replaced by GMC. My son drives a used GMC and it has none of these problems. The picture I am sending you is of jack benjamin blazek, a technician at bretting manufacturing, inc. In ashland. Ben has also built dirt track race cars and I have built john deere combines.

SUV dies and won't start back until it cools down. I was traveling 55 mph on a five lane highway and the vehicle just died. I had the vehicle towed to the local dealer and it couldn't be diagnosed.
I am so sick of my 06 GMC Envoy xl. I truly give up. I had the stabilitrak and reduced engine light come on my car for five months. I have replaced the steering wheel sensor, the throttle body, and had the relearn the idle thing done, to no avail. This makes my fourth time going to the dealer, because I thought they could fix it. I have always bought gm. If god blesses me with another opportunity to buy a car, it will not be a gm. It throws my car off. I've had to pull over and start the car over a thousand times. I've seen many forums online about this problem, but there is no recall? I've even called gm. I still had to pay money. Resetting the computer has done absolutely nothing. Just wanted to rant, because besides giving me some of my money back (to the tune of a grand), what can I do?.
Difficulty steering when making a left or fight tight turn.
Stabilitrack light keep coming on.
The vehicle will abruptly go from 70 mph to 30's (semi-trailer closing in fast) and I can't do a thing about it!! service stabilitrack has been a thorn while under warranty and persists to be a problem now that it is out of warranty! from early on, <10,000 miles and over 10 times since, this vehicle had been in to two different dealers and the problem, though intermittent, still exists and is a huge danger to me and my kids but I can't just go buy another car or trade this in like some people (including the car dealership managers) portray is the best option when I should be able to get gm to fix the car or replace it when they can't seem to figure out why the problem persists. But that hasn't been the only problem: gear band broke twice on the transmission, had to have transmission rebuilt because of faulty radiator, and other issues however none of the problems remotely compare to having taken it in for service because of the repeated unexplained DE-acceleration and loss of ability to make the car do anything except pull to the side of the road and give it ten minutes to stop having a "tantrum" of sorts while traffic whizzes by and thankfully didn't hit us (yet). Exterior / aesthetics, I love this vehicle but poor function and even worse service of problems. I've reported it to corporate but they don't care and despite it having had been into the dealership numerous times prior to end of warranty, now they just want me to start paying them for all these fixes that haven't fixed anything. Once I started paying for fixes and then started complaining that they aren't covering what they've never fixed; the manager had the nerve to say he'd pay for it out of his own pocket if he knew it would fix it . . . Hello. . . Why should the consumer pay for it when the problem is never really fixed.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving various speeds, the service stabilitrak warning indicator periodically illuminated. Also, the stabilitrak active indicator periodically illuminated, which caused the vehicle to stall. When the contact released and re-applied the accelerator pedal, the stabilitrak deactivated and the vehicle functioned normally. Occasionally, when the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal vibrated violently and the vehicle hesitated to stop. When the vehicle was stationary and the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated forward. Furthermore, the driver's seat was unable to move forward. When attempting to adjust the seat manually or with the power position adjuster, the seat failed to adjust until after a period of time. The vehicle was taken to bowser Buick GMC (1001 clairton blvd, pleasant hills, PA 15236, (412) 346-7929) where the contact was informed that the driver's door module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 90,000.
"takata recall" when I first start the car and begin to accelerate the traction control system activates causing lose of power - very dangerous when pulling out into traffic. I have to disengage the system on the shift handle to prevent this from happening. I am also experiencing the abs problem of activation when coming to a stop in all conditions. It is already a recall for GMC vehicles up to 2004 but obviously not corrected. The traction control system activates every time after first starting the car. The abs system is sporatic. No warning that it is about to happen. These systems fail daily without exception.
Stalling out in intersection, fuel gage and speed odometer ,air bags defaulting, shacking in front end , when driving. Verry dangerous.
When driving the vehicle all dash lights and gauges just stop working. They will come back on but this is a safety concern while driving on the highway. Also my headlights go on and off I have changed out the bulbs thinking that was the issue and no its not. On my way to work this morning at 530am they stopped and have not turned back on causing me to pull over and now missing work to figure out the problem. This has been an ongoing issue since the beginning of June and the problem seems it's getting worse. I can't drive 70 mph on a highway and have my headlights just stop working. I also smell gasoline inside my vehicle frequently.
Takara recall, on top of the complaints available to pick from my power steering system has just now started leaking consistently, I take it into the shop and they cannot find anything. They just want to replace the entire system. I have to refill every 2 weeks at least.
For more than a month my truck has cut off completely as I begin to break when I I am coming to a stop or when I am making a turn into a parking lot or at a corner. Sometimes it happens several times in a row during one trip. It always happens when I am in motion but once I turn on the hazard lights, put the car in park, turn off the ignition and restart it, it cranks right back up. I was told, based on my description that it could be a manufacturers defect in the turndown solenoid switch or sensor associated with the automatic transmission. This is a safety issue but I need my vehicle. This problem always occurs when I am on a city street. It has never happened on a highway/interstate when I am in perpetual motion. This is the only vehicle I have and I can't afford to leave it for more than a day at a shop, nor do I think I should shoulder all the responsibility for paying for repairs if it is a defect inherent in the vehicle. Please advise me as soon as possible if there is any recourse I can take against the manufacturer so I can have these needed repairs done immediately. I have already had the gear shift cable replaced about two months ago thinking that this was the problem. That was a $250 job with parts and labor.
I had been driving and pulled into a fast food restaurant and when I got out of my vehicle I noticed the smell of gasoline being close to a gas station I thought nothing of it when getting back in my vehicle after retrieving my food I now smelled the gasoline inside my vehicle still thought nothing that maybe the fumes were just lingering until the next day when the smell was stronger so strong that my child with asthma immediately had to get out of the vehicle so being cautious as anyone I had my husband take a look he smelled the gasoline but couldn't find a leak so he took it to our local mechanic who then diagnosed the problem and removed the tank and replaced it with a used tank and whatever part was needed to fix the issue so since then I have not smelled anymore gasoline but my check engine light refuses to go off not to mention I receive a letter in the mail stating that there was some sort of recall on my exact year and make of vehicle and that I could send in a claim to get back the $500 I put into fixing the vehicle thinking it was now safe for my family so I paid to fix the problem only my new tank is used so I'm guessing I'll be having this issue again at some point which is very scary considering I drive my children in this vehicle plus I'm out the $500 still have the same issue which I cannot afford to fix again should the problem arise and I didn't keep the receipt from my mechanic thinking problem solved I put it aside it threw it away so I'm just curious is there anything I can do because knowing the tanks have issues and I've just paid $500 for another recalled tank pretty much so I'm at a point where I have no option but to take a loss on the money I paid to fix the vehicle before I knew about the recall not to mention I've had to replace the tie rods twice and it's popping again when I make turns I love this vehicle but now I'm super nervous of it.
Due to a brake pressure modulator valve problem (open/shorted circuit), the abs system engages at about 8 mph in low speed stopping situations on wet and dry driving surfaces causing temporary engine stalling and power steering control loss and lengthened distance needed to stop, increasing the risk of crash.
Purchased a pre-owned 2006 GMC Envoy from an authorized GMC dealer in columbus, OH, on 12/31/2014. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, there were constant problems with the stabilitrak feature. The stabilitrak light would randomly come on, and then the abs would engage causing the vehicle to brake for no reason, while traveling on the highway. This also happens at lower speeds when traveling on residential streets. We've taken the vehicle in for service several times, spent lots of money, and no one can find a problem. Due to the stabilitrak constantly malfunctioning, it is extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle. Gm should be held responsible and issue a recall to fix this problem ASAP before someone gets killed in an accident as a result of this defect!.
On or about Dec 17, 2014, we were leaving a school function around 7 pm. The low beam lights went out unsuspectingly; we only had access to high beam lights. We stopped several times to check connections but no result. We also turned the vehicle off/on to try and reset but no result. Have not had another occurrence. We learned via news that a recall has been issued for this problem on 2006-2009 GMC Envoy. Colonial auto center GMC dealer (charlottesville) is advising there is no recall. . . They were called on 01/21/15. Also, a "service stibi control" message always appears. It has been checked by a couple dealers. Colonial changes a booster and message continues to come on. . .
I was driving down the road from work all of a sudden my radio starts going up /down by itself, then the next day my windows made a clicking noise now they want let up/down . My stabilitrac light keeps coming on. Took it back to dealer was told it is a common problem. Why hasn't GMC issued a recall.
Was driving and my car shut down. Had no control of brakes, steering . Lucky I was going straight . This is the second 3rd time this has happened.
There are times when I don't know if my vehicle will start. I put the key in and sometimes it starts right up and other times, I have to keep turning and turning and wait until it will catch on. There were times where I had wait up to an hour for my car to start. I never know when because I don't have an indicator when the vehicle will decide to start. There have been times when it would work fine for one month with no incident, then it will not switch on. Seems like when I take it to the shop, that is when the car decides to act right. And the service stabilitrack light has been on since I purchaed the vehicle only to find out that I need a rack and pinion. I really think the ignition switch should be recalled. I contacted the dealer and they informed me that my vehicle was not on the recall list.
I was driving about 65mph down I-35 in austin, texas and suddenly my car dropped to about 40mpg and the "stabilitrak off" message appeared. A definite safety hazard because someone could have, and almost did, rear-end me. I had to get off the freeway and turn my car off for about 10 minutes. Restarted and made it home ok. Today, August 28, the same thing happened again. . It happens without any warning. There should be a safety recall on this. I'm surprised that there has not been a major incident when this happens.
Low beam headlights on my 2008 GMC Envoy denali randomly turn off by themselves for extended periods of time and then turn back on the next day only to turn off again. This happens when driving at different speeds. Also stability track signal comes on for no particular reason.
Gm ignition switch problem with suvs!!!!!!! was driving about 45 mph with our grandkids and all power was lost. No power steering, no brakes. Radio and electric windows still worked after stopping (luckily safely). Service repair reported that ignition switch circuit that controls the engine shorted out turning off engine at 45 mph. This is the 5th ignition switch on this vehicle. Gm has a larger ignition switch problem than they are acknowledging. Luckily we just got off the highway going 70 mph or we would have crashed. Please research this class of vehicle (suvs/trucks) as I believe gm has a similar problem as the cobalts!!!!!!!.
While attempting a full stop after pulling into parking lot, vehicle would not stop, abs came on and prevented Envoy from reaching full stop. Had to put vehicle in neutral and use e-brake. Occurred 4 more times before I could take for service. Mechanic diagnosed issue with abs sensors, although sensors did not report as faulty. Online research indicates this was a common gm failure from 02-08 in trucks in areas where salt/snow is prevalent. Remedy was disable traction control and abs, cant afford to replace front bearings and rear sensors. Problem only occurs intermittently, and only when attempting stop from low initial speeds.
Noticed a no traction in my cluster one month before the accident. When I turned the SUV off the light would go away. I had a code check on it and had codes for my abs. Sensers where checked and tested. No fault in the sensers. The day of the accident as I was passing the person and switching lanes there was a red light ahead I applied my breaks and the no traction came on as I hit a small patch of ice. Traction did not kick on or abs leading me out to m-24 from a neighborhood road getting hit on the driver side fender by a chevy tracker. After much research and talking with ase techs. A defective steering positioning senser was defective and know in the 360 models to go bad. After the replacement no problem miles at 100097.
On 12/23/13, while parked the vehicle died. When restarting, it was a little slow but did end up starting. On 12/24/13, I had the battery tested and it showed that the cca's just needed a good charge so I let the vehicle run for 45 minutes. A few hours later, the vehicle would not even turn over. On 12/25/13, removed the battery and reinstalled it. The vehicle started fine and ran well for a few days. On 1/1/14, vehicle stalled while driving. Ended up restarting but I had to give it gas to do so. On 1/2/14, I started the car to warm it up and it started fine. I let it run for 20-30 minutes before attempting to drive it. When I got in the vehicle, it said that the brake system was not working and the stabilitrack light was flashing on and off intermittently. I had to get a cab to work & have it towed to the shop. I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow in regards to what is going on. Also, had to get a rental vehicle in the meantime for transportation.
