2 years ago the maintenance required light has been on, when checked by 2-3 mechanics they said it could be the gas cap. That didn't remedy the situation, the light stayed on, then recently the fuel gauge started dropping to empty after a little less than half a tank was used. Then filling the gas tank caused it to overflow if you fill it to full. As of today the car when shifted into reverse, something came loose inside the shifter, now it is stuck in neutral.

Gas gauge is not working. Amount of gas in tank unknown due to this error, not only making driving unsafe, it is also a major inconvenience. We have replaced fuel filter in gas tank and problem still persists. Now our mechanic has suggested a new imstrument cluster. . . . . $500 later will it be fixed?' all the while GMC knows of this problem.

Driving the vehicle on the highway at approximately 75mph, gas gauge went completely down to e with a full tank. The needle was basically reading in the same position as when it is in the off position. After that happened the vehicle speedometer started reading incorrect speeds I will be at a dead stop and at a stop light and my speedometer will be reading 75 mph stuck. I know there was a class action lawsuit in 2007 approximately and listed certain gm vehicles but this one was not included. I think that gm needs to look at this affecting other models and makes they replaced some vehicles with this issue and the problemt lies with the step motor in the cluster gauge. If you take the gm dealership they want to charge you $500 dollars to repair on a issue that is beign replaced on other models. Please please get this to be recall this is a issue that will cause someone to get hurt very bad in a accident.
While driving the vehicle the air will let out of the shocks, also happens when vehicle is parked. Ssometimes air will not even elevate shocks when vehicle is turned on. Also randomly while vehicle is started whwther the fuel tank is full or empty or inbetween it will go from accurate level to empty mark on fuel gauge.

Dashboard and gauges kept malfunction speed odometer reading incorrect had to replace also rear door burned out very costs very high.
I have a 2007 GMC Envoy and the gas gauge does not work. Initally, when I would fill up the tank it would work for at least a 100 miles; over time it has gotten to the point that the gauge never works and is always on empty. I have to monitor my mileage meter to know when I need to get gas.

The gas gauge is reading empty although just filled with gas. It started flunctuating but now it just remains on empty despite gas tank being full. This is the second time, I have had the same problem. The first time it was changed free of change because car was still under warranty. There is something obviously defective with the gas gauge of this car and it is certainly a safety hazard of not knowing when you need to refill, vehicle stalled in the middle of the road with my three little children in it and costly repairs. GMC must be held accountable for this defect and a recall should be done immediately.
When weather turned cold the vehicle would stall and shut off for new reason. In addition to gas gauge stopped working.
Faulty fuel gauge sensor, as well as a faulty instrument panel. The fuel gauge indicates there is no fuel when I have just filled up my 2006 GMC Envoy. Started with filling up my SUV and after I got gas, the gauge dropped to empty with the bell chiming low fuel. The check engine light stays on constantly even after having the car serviced. It goes off intermittenly. Definitely dangerous as you do not know when you will run out of gas, especially with traveling with young children.
2005 GMC Envoy instrument cluster panel failure. . . The speedometer and gas gauge quit working.
Out of nowhere my front head lights went out. Its not the fuse or the bulbs, both front low lights went out. The high beams work. There is no power going to the lights and I have to buy a new switch. I also had to replace the engine almost a year ago because the o rings went up. The gas gauge is broken and my passenger window will not go down. I feel so stuck with this car!.
We have a 2004, GMC Envoy xuv, which we purchase brand new in 2004. Since last year winter, I noticed that my speedometer would get stuck and run erratically, which I thought at the time was due to the cold. Occasionally too, we'd come to the garage to find the rear window open and the tailgate unable to open. During those times, we were able to bring the window back up with the button inside the vehicle, as well as unlock the tailgate by locking and unlocking the doors with the remote. Also, the truck would stall during driving, especially at turns, but would start again. Just last week, my wife was just about to leave home last week, when she noticed the rear tailgate window had gone down by itself as usual; following which all electronic efforts to bring it up failed, and the tailgate or roof wouldn't open as well. Then, we heard some humming inside the tailgate. My wife left home only to have the truck's battery fail at the local mall. Since then, the instrument cluster has also continuously gone haywire, with the speedometer reading erratically as well as the oil pressure gauge. The dealership says there are no recalls regarding any of these manufacturing defects, and my research indicates these are problems most GMC Envoy xuv owners are experiencing, without recourse of having it fixed by gm at no charge. Now, we know why they have lost the market share to japan vehicles, because our next vehicle will never be a gm, unless all these problems are recalled and fixed. We'll also ensure to mount a lack-of-confidence campaign against gm vehicles with everyone we know, if nothing is done about ASAP by gm.
Gauge cluster including speedometer failure.
Out of nowhere my front head lights went out. Its not the fuse or the bulbs, both front low lights went out. The high beams work. There is no power going to the lights and I have to buy a new switch. The gas gauge is broken. The abs/brake light is on. I feel so stuck with this car!.
I have a 2005 GMC Envoy xl. When I bought the SUV in Jan 2009 the gas gauge was showed 1/4 tank when it was empty. By February, the gauze was completely nonfunctioning. Had the gauze replaced in June of 2010.
One day my oil gauge stopped working. A few months later the speedometer stopped working and eventually every gauge in my panel stopped working. This all started around Nov of 2008. I could not figure out what was going on. I checked all fuses, bulbs and wiring. Now two days ago my head lights stoped working on low beam. Nothing was found to be the problem. I recently found hundreds of Envoy owners with the exact same issues and now know it is the instrument cluster panel. Est cost for the part only $570.
I bought my GMC Envoy in January 2004 for approx. $42,000. This car has everything. After about 2 months of the purchase, my gps went out and had been fixed twice. My brakes do not always work --sometimes they slip especially when I need them most -which is scary. GMC said that they have heard about this problem before, but did nothing to resolve the problem. The engine stalls periodically. GMC said they do not know why. The gas gauge and odometer do not work properly. When I brought my vehicle into north county GMC dealership in san diego for repairs I mentioned my gas gauge did not work along with many of the other issues. After they repaired the odometer by replacing the cluster, the gas gauge still did not work. Every single time these problems happen I am forced to pay a $100 service charge just so they can look at it and because I am in sales, I am also forced to get a rental car. After all this, I am still quite displeased with GMC. I hate to say it but they are supposed to be the best american car ã‚??professional gradeã‚?? and if this is true I will never buy an american vehicle again. GMC said they would be checking on all these problems and every single time I picked my Envoy up after they supposedly fixed the problems, I found several issues still unresolved. They suggest I need to set another meeting to bring my Envoy in and of course will cost another $100.
