One problem related to axle shaft seal has been reported for the 1996 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Seals in transfer case had gone out. This caused fluid to leak out of transmission. This was second time it has happened. Seals were not corroded or rusty. Had it repaired first time. Currently, second time mechanic indicated there was nothing that could be done.
