One problem related to steering rack and pinion has been reported for the 1998 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rack and pinion steering seal is leaking. When trying to make a turn steering will not respond. Makes noise when almost dry. Dealer has replaced rack and pinion seal 4 times since purchase of vehicle.
