Two problems related to axle assembly have been reported for the 2000 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2000 GMC Jimmy caught fire underneath by the rear axle. The fire occurred inside rear axle and differential. Ohio traffic crash report# 10-91-0790.
Rear axle gears failed- gears sheared-new unit installed.
