GMC Jimmy owners have reported 4 problems related to automatic transmission column shift (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
We had the 4 wheel drive high repaired 1 1/2 year ago, then it would not engage in the 4 wheel drive high again. They found another part when out in the motor causing it not to go into the 4 wheel drive high. Each time it costs us $700 or more for the repairs. We also had to repair the transmission last year, which costs us $1600 to repair!.

4-wheel drive module and encoder motor failed.
A malfunction has occurred within four wheel drive system which has caused vehicle not to move when system was activated. Engine check light illuminated, indicating that system was operating. Please give any further details.
