We had the 4 wheel drive high repaired 1 1/2 year ago, then it would not engage in the 4 wheel drive high again. They found another part when out in the motor causing it not to go into the 4 wheel drive high. Each time it costs us $700 or more for the repairs. We also had to repair the transmission last year, which costs us $1600 to repair!.

2 Automatic Transmission Column Shift problem of the 1997 GMC Jimmy

Failure Date: 12/01/1999

4-wheel drive motor failed, and shorted out the 4-wheel drive relay causing entire system to not operate at all.
