Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 1996 GMC Sierra

1 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2001

While driving 40 mph consumer hit another vehicle in a front end crash. Upon impact, driver's airbag did not deploy. Consumer hit her head on steering wheel, required 6-8 stitches. Chevrolet customer service told consumer her airbag should not have deployed, her life was not in danger. Damage to vehicle was $ 7000. 00.

2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 12/26/1999

Consumer hit a vehicle with highway speed impact, and driverside airbag did not deploy, causing minor injuries. GMC inspected vehicle, but did not notify consumer of the result of inspection.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 11/05/1999

While traveling at 33 mph and as a result of an head-on accident air bags did not deploy, resulting in injuries. Dealer has been notified.

4 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 10/28/1999

Vehicle has been involved in two frontal collisions, and the airbags have not deployed. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 06/17/1998

Vehicle was involved in an accident at 50 mph. Direct frontal impact in which driver's nor passeger's side airbags did not deploy. Cause unknown. Consumer sustained whiplash due to accident.

6 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 03/12/1997

The vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at 20-30 mph with extensive damage to the vehicle, driver's side air bag did not deploy.

7 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Failure Date: 09/05/1996

Vehicle was involved in a frontal accident and driver's airbag failed to deploy.

8 Air Bag Not Deploy problem

Vehicle hit a deer at 55mph, and the driver's side airbag did not deploy. Dealer has not seen vehicle.
