Three problems related to alternator/generator/regulator have been reported for the 1997 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Electrical system shuts down at low and high speeds. Replaced battery, battery connections, cables and alternator but the problem persists over the years. It is a dangerous hazardous situation.
Alternator failed. Nlm.
The alternator failed twice and replaced.
