general problems of the 1997 GMC Sierra

Eight problems related to tire have been reported for the 1997 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2001

After market tire dayton timberline at tire 31x10. 5r15 size dot#: vd60tat319. Tread on rear passenger's tire separated at highway speeds, causing damage to vehicle. Firestone has been notified.

2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 09/01/1999

Tires have poor traction when on wet surface compared to bfg or general tires. (dot number: bm05324-1 tiresize: 245/75r16).

3 Tire problem

Failure Date: 09/01/1999

4 Tire problem

Failure Date: 09/05/1997

When turning left or right the tires, they rub against the a frame. The problem has not been corrected.

5 Tire problem

Failure Date: 02/01/1997

Goodyear tire failure.

6 Tire problem

Failure Date: 02/01/1997

Rock punctured goodyear tire. (p26575r16).

7 Tire problem

Failure Date: 12/26/1996

Three of the four tires have failed due to insufficient size of tire on automobile. (goodyear wrangler rt/s) p265-75r16.

8 Tire problem

Original tires are 4-ply, which are insufficient for the off road vehicle resulting in premature tire failure.
