Six problems related to front seat belt anchorage have been reported for the 1999 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was involved in a rear end collision, driver's seat belt failed to operate, casusing driver to hit front windshield, and propelled driver onto passenger's side of vehicle. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified at this time. Consumer also states the airbags did not deploy. There was one injury.
Rear end vibrates due to misalignment of drive shaft to axle. Can't figure out why tranmission shifts hard. Tried replacing seat belt to fix tightening on bump.
Consumer received recall 00v097 regarding the seatbelt unit replacement, when consumer picked up the vehicle he was informed that the dealership had been short one seatbelt kit and was asked to bring the vehicle back in later to have it replaced, however two months later when the vehicle was taken back the service department stated after looking up the VIN that both seatbelts had been replaced, so the dealer would do no further work under the recall campaign.
