One problem related to starter has been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Ignition turns over but will not crank. Battery/starter/alternator checked out ok. Security light on dash lights up while driving. Mechanic states likely a security system or computer problem, stated dealer would call gm tech support for help. Multiple calls to dealership are not returned. Truck still refuses to crank at random times, when engine cold or warm. Security light still activates randomly while driving, and light stays on till truck shut off. Truck will normally crank after 10 to 30 minutes of inactivity. Fuel line checked out ok.
