Three problems related to seat belt have been reported for the 2002 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2002 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic for service and the mechanic stated that there was rust found in the drivers side brake baking plate and brake line. The private mechanic also stated that there may be safety related failures involving the suspension and brake pedal because the pedal had to be depressed all the way to the floor before the brakes functioned properly. In addition, the contact also stated that the safety belts failed to open and close properly. The vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer and the manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 101,950.
The passenger seat belt locked up, and did not release when the seat was reclined. .
Passenger restraint belts do not function correctly. The seat belt had been replaced twice but continues to lock up.
