One problem related to power steering fluid has been reported for the 2005 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Truck with a full-size camper was parked for less than 5 min. Before it blew up and burned up. North american technical & forensic serivces examined the truck and determined that the cause was a powersteering fluid leak in the left front engine compartment at the powersteering fluid line or line connections. After the fire, I contacted gm regarding the incident and asked if they had any record of this type of fire and they said no. However, in checking the recalls, there was a recall for powersteering leakage. Gm then filed bankruptcy.
