Seat Belt problem #1

The contact owned a 2007 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. The seat belt became unbuckled and the air bag did not deploy. The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. The contact sustained a concussion and cut on the leg, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

Seat Belt problem #2

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra. While backing out of the driveway, the contact heard a loud noise inside the vehicle followed by gas leaking from the frontal air bags. The failure occurred without warning. The air bags failed to deploy. The air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and remained lit until the engine was turned off. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Currently, the vehicle has not been driven or repaired. The contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 39,700. Updated 1/6/09 the consumer stated the seatbelts locked up, which rendered them useless. Updated 01/14/09.
