Takata recall went back to local chevy GMC dealer again for the second time in almost 3 years since I received my recall letter from gm. They looked up recall and again told me that it has been recalled but they haven't agreed on whose going to fix the problem. I am tired of waiting and driving a truck that in my opinion is not safe to drive with this safety related issue. I want this fixed because 3 years is long enough to figure out whose paying and get the job done. If it dosen't get resolved soon I will have to take legal action against gm. I drive this vehicle daily so it needs to be fixed.

The dashboard in my 2011 GMC Sierra denali 1500 has multiple cracks in the dashboard, they have appeared significantly within in the last year and gotten much larger to the point where a "hole" has opened up due to a piece of the dashboard breaking loose and falling inside of the dash console. The cracks and loose debris have caused me concern because if the airbags were to deploy during a motor vehicle accident the occupants of the vehicle would be subjected to flying debris/ shrapnel from the dashboard. I contacted my local dealership and they stated that it is an aesthetic issue which would not be covered under any kind of warranty. This is a known issue with its own facebook page and plenty of documented cases online. Gm has acknowledged there was a problem and has offered to replace some dash boards on a case by case basis at a reduced cost. However, this still seems to be unacceptable due to the fact that personal injury including and up to loss of life could be a result of this defect.

Dashboard on my GMC Sierra denali has 2 major cracks. This is a known defect with these vehicles dashboards. First crack is over the gauges on the dash, and the second is right over top of the air bag. This is a serious issue with no recalls or assistance from vehicle manufacturers. The cracks are either started via driving and cracking due to vibration of the road, or they crack from premature wear via the sun fading the materials. It is a very serious safety concern, seeing how if the air bag were to deploy it will send many sharp pieces of dashboard plastic into the passenger or myself the driver. This issue needs to be addressed, it is a very expensive fix, and a safety issue that needs an immediate recall or address.
While detailing my truck on October 30, 2017 I discovered a crack on the dash about an inch and a half long running from the top left of the airbag cover towards the defroster vent . Took the vehicle in for servicing on October 31, 2017 and they stated to contact GMC cares that they were familiar with this kind of problem. I called GMC they stated they were unaware of this problem on my make and model truck. They stated that I needed to contact the dealer and have the dealer contact GMC. The dealer told me to contact GMC. After doing a quick search on the internet I discovered this has been an ongoing problem that GMC has been aware of and is not fixing and apparently this will only going to get worse as time goes by. The safety concern I have is it so close to the airbag on the passenger side that if the airbag deploys in a crash will cause shards of broken dash to fly around in the cab injuring the passengers. .

My Sierra has the same problem that many other gm vehicles have. The dash is cracking, creating loose pieces. It is cracked at the airbag. This sharp edges could impair the proper function of the airbag. In the event of an accident, I am afraid the loose dash pieces could post a danger to the vehicles occupants.
My dash has two cracks that have developed one is at the top of the air bag and may splinter or break apart when air bag is deployed.
Dash cracked around airbag module.

Dashboard cracked at passenger air bag and at instrument cluster broken plastic pieces will become shrapnel during an accident and air bag inflation.
The dash that supports the air bag on the passenger side is cracking and could possibly puncture the air bag or send parts of the dash flying a occupants during a collision. Because of the cracks the air bag is not properly secured in the vehicle.
My dash has large gaps/cracks in the dashboard. These range from the windshield all the way the front piece of trip. The dash is completely separated. Right in the center of the dash, around the airbags, and the other smaller parts or the dash are cracked too. I use a sun shield, so that is not the case. My daughter and I have both cut our hands on the dash. She was so surprised when she got in the truck that she asked if I had a wreck, and then ran her hand over the dash and cut her palm ad two fingers. I also cut my hand while trying to clean it so that stuff does not drop down the crack, such as dirt or dust, can't that start a fire with the wires and the heater down there? another thing is my vents don't wok like they are suppose to. The dash is so broken you can hear sounds of plastic vibrating and blowing in the vents. This directly effects the air flow to, it's like its not even connected. This all happened while the vehicle was in the garage stationary not running.

A fews ago, I notice a crack on the front dashboard, near the air bag, in the passenger side. Im concern due to the safety on my vehicle with my kids and my wife. I don't know if the air bag will deploy at anytime or an any impact. Very concern with this safety issue.
First off would be my dashboard air bag, the dashboard plastic is cracking with the concern on flying debris I brought my GMC 1500 into my local service/sales center and he told me with out a recall there is nothing he could do for me. Second I have been dealing with what seems to either the power train or brakes from day one I purchased my truck. What it does is when I come to a complete stop, release the brake, and then apply the accelerator I get a big cur plunk sound and feeling of the truck jerk. This is coming for the rear end of my truck I would assume the rear axial. I have brought this up to my local service/sales center , multiple times. He has not stopped the problem and tells me there is not much more he can do without the manufacturer posting a bulletin out.

While sitting parked in my driveway with the car in park and the engine idling, the side curtain airbags on my 2014 GMC Sierra deployed for no identifiable reason. Gm has provided part of the crash detection report data to me. The vehicle event severity status: rollover indicates "yes". The cdr also shows that the vehicle's speed was zero and the engine was at idle (512 rpm). As noted, the vehicle was parked on a level surface and there was no movement of the vehicle other than any movement of the passengers in the vehicle. The vehicle did not roll as is evidenced by the fact that there is no external damage.

Major issue involving cracking of dash around passenger airbag opening and instrument cluster area. I have noticed several vehicles covering all years and usage with similar cracks some major. Concerned that if an accident with front air bag deployment injury could occur due to fractured plastic.
About a year go starded to see a crack on the dashboard by the air bag.
I did not know about this site and this accident happened in oct 2014. I was going around a curve with 40 mph speed limit and I was going 40 mph. I started to brake as this was downhill and a very large truck and I did not wish to increase speed as I followed the curve. My brakes did not respond and sank to the floor with no resistance. I had no steering ability either. I ended up in a head-on collision with a very large tree and the airbags failed. I split my head open on the steering wheel despite blocking my face with my forearms crossed; a DE-gloving 10-12 inch laceration down to the skull that wraps from my nose bridge around to my right ear in the circular shape of the steering wheel. My right leg was pinned into the center dash area as the engine block and steering column were shoved into the cab. I had to be removed from my vehicle with the jaws of life by emergency response teams. I am lucky to be alive. My quadrasteer was declared totaled by usaa insurance and destroyed without my knowledge. I called usaa 3 days after the crash after finding so many brake failures on this vehicle/year model and was told it was already destroyed, so doing an investigation was not possible. I have lived in pain and also paralyzing fear of driving since then; 3 years. I am a disabled military veteran with ptsd and prior brain surgery and this accident caused to me isolate so severely I could not even attend medical appointments due to my new fears of driving & riding in vehicles. My life is now ruined by this accident. Decreasing va disability due to inability to attend appointments caused a $1000. 00 per month loss of benefits. I can't afford my bills and have been struggling with the va to gain access to medical evaluations since they are now striving to cut benefits from anyone they can. Please recall now!!!!! who else has to be hurt or killed?????.

Dashboard cracking severely above instrument cluster. Dashboard rattling severely causing dash to vibrate and cover to airbag to vibrate substantially. Concern that dash will completely fall causing air bag failure in crash.
The dash board on my 2010 GMC has cracked in several areas, including at the passenger airbag. I have strong concerns that the dash will break apart in an accident if the airbag were to deploy and possibly injure occupants in the cabin. The plastic is very brittle and could easily cut someone.
