Failure Date: 10/14/2019

On screen display for backup camera. When putting the vehicle in reverse, the on screen display is so bright that you can't see out the windows, the rearview mirrors or the surrounding area. This display does not dim with the rest of the lights. This causes a severe safety hazard when trying to backup the vehicle.

Display screen to bright when vehicle is in reverse. When putting vehicle in reverse the backup camera display is so bright you can not see your exterior mirrors or out any of the windows to see surrounding area. 4 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 02/14/2016

There is already a technical service bulletin on this matter however I feel it is serious enough to be a recall. While driving at night in unlighted areas the bright lights leave serious dark areas especially if you are travelling on curvy roads. If you encounter a pedestrian or other object in the road in these areas they cannot be seen until its possibly too late. The manufacturer will only do the repair if you complain about it and its still under warranty. I believe this should be recalled and repaired before someone is hurt or killed.

5 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2015 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 01/21/2016

90% of my driving is at night. I drive on mixed roadways. I find that the headlamps on my GMC Sierra are inadequate at best. I brought the Sierra to the dealer, who performed a TSB, and although it improved the lighting, it is still way below par. It's as if I'm driving a 20 year old car with yellowed out lens cover. In rainy weather, the headlamps are nonexistent.

6 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2015 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 12/31/2015

The head lights on this truck are very bad. I spent 45,000 dollars on somthing that should not be a problem. On high beams the drivers side head light goes almost straight out from the truck. On the passengers side the high beam light goes out to left . It 's like the right side light is going to middle of truck. You can really see it on a dark road with road banks or trees on both sides of the road. I took to dealer and they checked it out with another truck. Big deal! that tells me that both trucks are doing the same thing. ( dahaaa). I called GMC and filed a complaint . They called back and said they talked to the dealer and they can't do anything about it (. Dahaa. ). . . I hope no one asks me about these new trucks????? I never thoght I would have a truck from the darks again. I was wrong. Please fix the problem gm. . . This is stupid. . . Thanks for nothing.

7 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 11/27/2015

The front projector headlamps do not put out enough light to safely drive on unlit roads at highway speeds. There is also little light projected to the side making turns unlit. I recently had a near hit with a pedestrian on an unlit street because of no side lighting when making a slow turn. There are no higher lumen replacement bulbs available.

The projector head lights are very poor at best. Very low illumination. It is very difficult to see the road at night. Driving in some conditions it is extremely difficult to see the road and the sides of the road. When making a right hand turn the driver cannot see anything on the right. When raining the driver cannot seat all. It is like driving a 1960 vintage vehicle. There are many complaints on the web. I notified GMC about this issue. The response is the lights work as designed. This is a terrible design. There will be accidents due to this issue. Gm should be proactive before there are fatalities. I hope that notifying you that you will help solve this.

16 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 09/20/2014

The headlamps are totally inadequate for night driving thus producing a very significant safety issue . There is zero lighting on both sides on low beam and very poor down road vision on highbeem. There are many complaints on line and they are all with the same issues. It has to do with the cheap one bulb lense system with a shutter on the lense. Have complained to dealer who acknowledged there is a problem and to gm who refuses to acknowledge there is a problem . Gm response to me was the lamps work as designed and I responded that is exactly the problem, the design which produces very dangerous driving conditions.

17 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 09/10/2014

After purchasing our new truck, we drove it for the first time after dark on our rural country roads. When engaging the dim lights you can not see more than 20 to 30 yards in front of your vehicle. My husband has done extensive research on this problem since we discovered it and found hundreds of complaints. When engaging the bright lights they appear to shine the distance that the dim lights should. We feel that this is a serious engineering flaw in the gm lighting system on their GMC trucks. He has discovered that they have installed a projector light with a curtain or shutter in this lighting system. We have had them adjusted once by the dealership and they made it worse not better. We have been told that until gm is made to change the lighting system and remove this curtain/shutter system that we are stuck with this. Our only alternative seems to be to drive with our bright lights on at all times after dark in rural areas. We feel that this is a very dangerous situation and at some point in time there is going to be a serious if not fatal accident due to this problem. We are hoping that you will investigate this matter and take action as soon as possible.

18 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra

Today for the first time I drove my 2014 Sierra texas edition in the rain at night. . . . Wow>>>>> I had to stop and wait for the rain downpour to let out so I could see where I was going. Not good. Driving at night is very stressfull and eye straining to the point of taking headache medications once you are done driving. Any wayt to fix this extremely dangerous problem? this should be considered a safety hazard to drivers and any others on the road. This issue needs to be addressed and resolved ASAP. And gm still says there is nothing wrong. So why are they changing the desing on the 2016's trucks.
