The contact owns a 2006 GMC Sierra. The contact stated the fuel gauge malfunctioned and he was unable to read the amount of fuel that was in the vehicle. The dealer stated that the reader inside the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact did not replace the reader although the vehicle could shut off when the fuel tank was empty without any warning. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The rear strap that holds the gasoline tank in my vehicle broke due to corrosion of the strap. The tank stayed inplace until I could drive to the dealer to have it replaced. The dealer was not concerned and ordered the part and schedueld to replace it in a week.

When driver stopped to get out of truck he noticed that the gas tank was about inches from the ground. The bolt that holds the gas tank up was missing. The truck was towed to a dealer where bolt was replaced under warranty.
