Three problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 GMC Sierra 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have called repeatedly and filed reports of electrical and the brakes in the 99 GMC suburban. I have called several times about the smell of electrical burning . No one cared. Wires have melted and shorted out the headlights, tail lights, air conditioner etc. No one has done anything and GMC refuses to do recall.
Consumer states when she shut the engine off, the abs system was still running.
While driving consumer stated hit brakes, and at the same time hit a bump in road, and abs activated. Vehicle was hard to stop. Contacted dealer.
