general problems of the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500

Multiple cracks in dash.

Where the passenger airbag is at, there is some cracking around it.

Dashboard is completely broken and it moves everywhere. It’s not even attached to the screws cause it’s broken. I’ve put 10,000 miles on the in the last 5 years and the dash is basically falling apart on its own.

There has been no incident and no failure. I bought this truck new. It has been under recall since the recall first came out. I would like to have my eleven year old truck fixed. Needless to say, I am getting tired of waiting.

The door actuators on both back seat doors of my crew cab have failed and passengers cannot exit the vehicle nor can the doors be opened from the outside. This failure is intermittent and and unsafe for passengers to exit the vehicle in an emergency. The truck is at the gm dealer being repaired for $670. 00 plus tax and shop charges.

Regarding recall for gm 14515b. Or NHTSA 14v614 I have a 2008 GMC sierra slt with a 5. 3 litre engine. My vehicle fails to start and the check engine light is on when brought to the dealer they changed the fuel pump flow control module part 20759945 the same part number that is mentioned in the current recall. I also have same condition mentioned in current recall. But when asked about the recall gym canada customer service and dealer just says there is no recall on my VIN but can't explain what vehicles are affected by recall and why. My vehicle falls within the years affected by the recall. I am sending this because I think more vehicles are affected by this recall than originally mentioned. If you could look into this please. I just find it weird how the vehicle experiences the same condition and the same part is affected but for some vehicles it's not a recall. Will somebody have to die for this to become a concern. Thanks.

Takata recall as reported by GMC since of may 2016 and has not provided a replacement for the dealer in more than 1 year.

Dash failure around defective takata airbag and over dash cluster. Brittle plastic will splinter and strike both passenger and driver if airbag deploys. Takata recall has no remedy according to dealer and manufacturing.

Takata - gm recall 49152 - I received a recall notice dated July 2016 and they still do not have the parts to replace the front airbag inflators. I have called three times to check the status and they still do not have them.

All of my door locks will not open. They started failing one at a time. Now none them work. You can push the remote and hear them trying to work but they don't. Think it might be the actuators for each door.

On 04. 12. 2014 after going to the store, parked under the carport. The time was 10pm. While inside heard a pop sound around 10:15 pm. Went outside and the truck was on fire. Put truck in neutral and pushed it from under the carport, trying to save damage to the house. Fire dept came and put the fire out. The fire warped all the vinyl under the carport. Lucky it didn't catch the house on fire. The fire was worse on the passenger side of the vehicle.

The door lock actuators on both driver and passenger doors failed before the truck had 35000 miled on the odometer.

Dashboard is completely broken. It started by the airbag area in 2010 and now completely broken in all areas.
