The basic design of the headlights does not allow for a sufficient level of lighting to safely operate the vehicle at night. There is virtually no lateral lighting, and the headlights do not illuminate the way forward, they only drop a shutter in front of the lights when one switches from low beam to high. There is no increase in light intensity or volume when switching to bright lights. Recall and fix!!!!!!.
Live in west virginia. Was traveling home from 2nd shift along good country road when I had to swerve to miss a deer. Reason was be the headlights on my week old GMC sierra are awful. They do not light up the road correctly (side to side) or distance wise. The low beams shine out about 30 feet and when I use the high beams the light is not aimed properly. It shines everywhere but on the road. Dealer said they've had lot of complaints but no info from gm on a fix. My last gm truck had great lights. Should have bought a ram! this is dangerous and needs not to be covered up like the ignition switch thing.
