Power steering goes out and at time turn truck power off whenever I attempt a slow tight turn like backing into my driveway or making tight turns going into parking lots and/or spaces. Most recently, when attempting a u-turn at a busy intersection, power steering went out and engine died. I had to coast to the side to avoid moving traffic. Each time this issue happens I hear 3 dings all my dash & screen lights flash off then on with clicking noises. Dash info changes from speedometer to radio setting. If I look at screen quickly enough when this happens I would sometimes read “rear parking assist unavailable” or something like that. If air conditioning is on it would turn off then on. Doors will unlock then lock, all this happening simaltaneously while attempting to make a turn.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, there was a reduction in the power steering assist. The stability track and abs warning lights were illuminated. The electronic power assist became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. I was towing a camper down rt 422 in butler, PA in my GMC truck when it suddenly caught fire. My wife was following me and alerted me to pull over as quickly as possible. I had no brakes and the gear shifter went straight up without shifting. The doors would also not open while the truck was filling with smoke. I got out using the manual unlock knob and am lucky to be alive. We had about one minute to try to extinguish the flames before it fully engulfed both my truck and camper. I filed a complaint with GMC. By what I am reading online there are many instances of fires and GMC does not seem to provide assistance. This is very unnerving and scary to say the least. I am sad and angry for this situation. This happened through no fault of my own and I lost absolutely everything. I was in the middle of moving to start a new job and lost many work items in my truck as well. I had to delay my start date for work. Now I am responsible for deductables, insurance increases and other items not covered by my insurance. Now I have to buy a new vehicle and camper but what will GMC do to help me? probably nothing.
While driving down the streets, truck loses all electrical power, loses power steering, radio, gauge cluster power and engine dies. Happened several times today. It immediately all comes back on(so far) but could definitely be a safety concern if the conditions were right.
Vehicle was stationary on the street, parked. I entered it, and turned on my front and rear defrosters with the setting on "hi. " I turned around and verified that my vehicle had not been hit nor was any damage at all apparent to me. At some point as I sat there with the car idled and the heated air reaching its maximum temperature, I began to smell some foul smell in the cab that I believed was exhaust entering the cabin. I rolled down the window. As I brushed the snow from the front and began to drive away, I heard a noise that I believed was the snow falling from the roof. However, as I rolled away, I noticed a louder-than-normal cabin. Upon looking behind me, I noticed the rear right window within the sliding rear cabin window had blown out. Upon inspecting the area, I noticed that no snow or water was present inside. Given that we had received a lot of snow the previous evening through the morning, had the damage occurred throughout the evening or early morning, there would've been moisture present.

Rear window defroster started smoking and created a burning plastic smell. After turning off the rear defroster the rear window exploded/shattered in place. I see there is a recall in canada, but not here. This is happening here and I have read of many others with same issue. Fire and broken glass is not safe and should be addressed.
Supposedly the brakes have been fixed for the recall, however, if I am driving as low speeds like in a parking lot, the abs will kick in causing me to not come to a stop when needed. I have almost hit several vehicles due to this issue. I have issues with the radio working, specifically being able to adjust the sound level. I have issues with the mirrors being able to move like they should. Both of the electrical issues are permanent, it does not matter if I am parked or driving, they do not work at all. This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever purchased. The brakes have been occurring for years and there was no change when it was brought in for the recall. The most recent issue is now my evap system needs to be fixed. I can only imagine what that will cost to fix on a vehicle that only has 100,000 miles on it. Can't wait to get that bill!.

When turning the wheel sharply at low speeds, the power steering suddenly turns off, as well as all other electronics making the vehicle difficult to control and posing a safety risk.
At slow speeds, mainly when backing and turning wheel when going forward at very slow speed, steering loses power. Also some times hard to turn when vehicle not in motion at all. The last time it happened all interior lights and radio flashed totally off and right back on. I heard a dinging/warning noise and a warning message flashed but went off before I had a chance to read it.
Sierra 2015 rear power window defroster over heated and shatter my driver side rear window. Prior to shattering, I smelled electric wires burning than pop. The vehicle was in motion around 25mph. The rear defroster was not on. It was 30deg outside and clear.
While parked and idling in a parking lot with passengers in vehicle, there was a sizzling sound followed by a flame flicker observed directly behind the driver's side, rear passenger seat at the bottom of the rear, driver's side glass panel. Shortly thereafter, the rear, driver's side glass panel shattered. My vehicle has rear sliding glass and only the driver's side panel shattered. Smoke and burning smell was noticeable. After online research, I discovered the gm recall #n192220470 related to 159,000 canadian vehicles. My situation matched the description of this recall exactly, but according to gm, my VIN# is not included in the recall. My vehicle is currently at my local chevy/GMC dealer for diagnosis and repair, but they don't seem to have much concern about the safety failure and told me the repair is not covered by warranty. To me, this is a serious design flaw and poses a potentially dangerous safety issue.
While pulling into a parking lot ant a friend apartment I was turning into a parking spot when the truck completely died causing no power steering or braked nearly causing me to hit his neighbors car.
Rear sliding glass window defogger contacts are smoking and making sizzling noise. Fire hazard. Had to remove fuse number 10 from engine block to prevent auto start from engaging rear defogger in cold weather, or to prevent defogger switch from being engaged by family member. 46k miles 2015 GMC sierra.

Remotely started the vehicle this morning and came out to find it smoke filled and the rear defrost on passenger side window was on fire and smoking. It filled car with smoke and shattered the window.
On numerous occasion the vehicles intierior audio chimes do no alert if doors are open, seatbelts are fastened, or blinkers are working. In 2014 the general motors recall number 14315 addressed this issue but gm states my VIN number does not included the vehicles affected even though its exactly as they describe in the recall campaign in 2014. They want me to pay for the diagnostic and repair despite it being a safety issue and a recall they addressed in the past.

Touchscreen interface will randomly select and change settings anything from a radio station to passive lock safety settings. This will happen whenever there is a key in the ignition and the screen is active. Happens all the time and is repeatable. Touchscreen controls most settings for the vehicle.
Intermittently losing power steering. Stability track light comes on for no apparent reason, headlights dim when applying brakes.

On several occasions all sounds from door chime, radio, onstar, etc. Have failed. Further the paint is beginning to blister from underneath. Gm is denying both problems exist. Gm says the paint issue is due to application of an extreme heat source. Arizona is hot, but not that hot. The sound issue is a safety hazard. The paint issue is typical corporate denial of legitimate claims.

10113356 steering wheel kicks/ jerks back and forth. Car shuts down completely. Electronics reset for no reason. Sounds like its known issue, but gm doesn't want to do anything for it.

All screens in vehicle shut off while driving, almost like the vehicle turned off. Then I was giving a service notification the the stabilitrak system.
When making slight left turns, the truck would flash stabilitrak on the display and the steering wheel would automatically pull out of my hands and make the wheels straighten up. The radio would then go dead and then 5 to 10 seconds later the entire truck would turn off. This happened while driving down the road. This happened on 2 separate occasions with no other warnings. I contacted GMC and they have not given me any type of answer or assistance.

Truck has 3 problems that can put my family's life in danger. 1- sometimes out of nowhere at low speeds when you turn the steering wheel to make a left or right turn the 'stabilitrac' light flashes in the screen and locks and won't let you turn the steering wheel. At this point you have no control of the steering wheel, it locks and bounces back at you and if you keep trying to turn it, the engine cuts off all power and it stalls, just dies. I almost got read ended a couple of times already due to this problem. Just this morning I was making a right onto a local mcdonald's and the steering wheel locked and the engine died on me. I had to quickly turn it on again and keep going. Another time it happen as I was merging into traffic. Very scary! problem number two, I think its just a matter of time before the steering wheel locks on me on high speeds. Sometimes when I'm on the freeway, the same chimes come on when I step on the brakes, the center screens goes black, and the same 'stabilitrac' warning comes on the smaller screen behind the steering wheel. I'm afraid to take it on a winding road for fear that the steering wheel will lock on me cause an accident. 3- service brake controller sign and chimes come on ant won't go away. It jus keeps on popping on and on and on and they go away when you turn off the truck, and come on again months or weeks later. I did have it checked at my local dealership. They tested it, sold me new ground and hot wires. It was good for about 4 weeks before the same problems came back again. I did some research on some of the forums and you tube videos and by far I'm the only one with the same problem. Very afraid to cause an accident.
Vehicle had a fire starting in the dashboard area behind instrument cluster I think. It took less than 15 minutes from the smell of and issue to flames visible. I noticed the gauges becoming erratic than the check engine light came on with what felt like the 4 wheel drive kicking in and out followed by the motor running poorly. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off as the smoke started. Than dialed 911. . Trooper was there in 6 minutes with fire department shortly after. I was on a highway traveling about 70 mph. There were quite a few potholes as this was winter time. Lights were on, cruise was on, heated seats and steering wheel were on, radio was on, phone and laptop were charging ( laptop utilizing 110 outlet in truck).
Roof antenna leaking after 2. 5 years the roof mount antenna for xm radio started leaking into headliner causes radio to get intermittent signal. Leak travels down driver side pillar into dash board which will cause electrical shorting and failure. This problem is due to a faulty design of the antenna. There are thousands of complaints online regarding this problem. Dealer refused to replace at there expense. Contacted gm who also refused to replace it. This was a $60,000 truck less than 3yrs old. It got my attention because I use xm radio and lost reception. There must be many more with this problem who don't even know it because they don't use xm radio. This is a serious problem having a leak traveling down into dashboard what else is affected air bags, lights, brakes etc. The design of this is awful GMC is extremely negligent not recalling on this problem.
