As a result, the contact crashed into a concrete post and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained left hand injuries that did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed away from the crash scene to a dealer who diagnosed that the connection point at steering wheel column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.
