The brake lights turn off if you press the brake and then slightly depress the pedal, although the brakes are still applied the brake lights are not on. I first noticed it while backing out of a driveway at night, and I did not think it was a safety concern until I saw my wife stop from 45 mph and the brake lights flashed and then turned off until she came to a complete stop. I took the truck to the dealership they thought there was a problem with the truck, and replaced the brake light switch. The problem did not go away. The same defect is on every truck on the car lot. The dealership wrote on my invoice that the owner presumes that when the brake pedal is pressed the brake lights should be on. Duh!!.
