36 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 05/06/2020

I took my truck in to the local GMC dealership for the recall fix and they ask if I wanted a diagnosis on the truck for a charge . I said yes cause I had a check engine light on and service air bag light on. Which they both came on a week after I bought it. So the service advisor told me that the belt tensioner is out on the drivers side and that the wiring under the drivers seat is messed up. And they told me some other things that were wrong with my truck that I have since found out were false. But I asked him if the seat belt and working issue is covered under a safety warranty. And he said no and to fix your truck it will be 5400 dollars. I have found out that there is a recall on these items and the recall number is 15522. So I would like to find out if I'm or the services advisor. Thanks.

On numerous occasion the vehicles intierior audio chimes do no alert if doors are open, seatbelts are fastened, or blinkers are working. In 2014 the general motors recall number 14315 addressed this issue but gm states my VIN number does not included the vehicles affected even though its exactly as they describe in the recall campaign in 2014. They want me to pay for the diagnostic and repair despite it being a safety issue and a recall they addressed in the past.

43 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 05/05/2019

You can constantly feel a bump, clunk & transmission slip when going from reverse to drive. This is dangerous as I was pulling a small boat and it came off the hitch hitting the trucks tailgate and causing damage to it. This will happen seconds after drive is already engaged. After 3rd time I took to dealer the mechanic gave me a GMC memo that states that this is normal for this model truck to do this. Mechanic stated gm has known about this issue for years. Are you kidding me ? sounds like poor engineering. I was never told this would happen pre purchase or I would of never bought the truck. Have had constant problems with this truck since I bought it. Have had the seat belt pillar cover fall off 3 times dealer says they will change seatbelt, waiting over 2 months and no parts or repair. I have a warning to service brake pad sensor monitor. Took to dealer and they say they can't get parts for it yet because gm is on strike and have been waiting for parts and repair for over 2 months . Have had a steering wheel column warning also. Dealer blames everything on software issue. My diagnostic report each month states truck is in perfect order even though I have had a warning light for over 2 months !!!!! now there is a recall for the seatbelt pretensioner that it might cause a fire ! what a piece of junk this truck is I tried to support the american economy by buying an american truck and look what I get ! I should of bought a Toyota tundra !!!!!!!.

44 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

The seatbelts in the rear seats do not fit children properly. My son is currently the age of 9 and is approximately 100 lbs. So he no longer can use a booster seat, however the seatbelt is still not placed accross his chest appropriately when riding in the vehicle. With recommendations to have children ride in the back seat,a s it is safer for them, it would be nice to have a sliding seatbelt retractor like the front seats passenger and driver. I am hopeful that when manufacturering an y new models this could be achieved to make our children safer as a passenger in a motor vehicle.

46 Seat Belt problem of the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 01/03/2019

My husband was stopped at a light when the side airbags deployed. We contacted GMC they sent someone to investigate. That person said due to some water leaking in on them is what caused it. Nothing was wet though. Now they cannot do anything to help. Seems like if they know they have a defect in the front airbags it is a chance the side ones are also bad. They hang like curtains. Have not been able to drive it since the seatbelts locked also. The cost to repair would be $6000. This is something that was no fault of ours. There has been so much time put into trying to get this resolved. We cant e the only ones this happened to. Suggestion?.

47 Seat Belt problem of the 2011 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 11/29/2018

On November 29, 2018 at around 12:00pm, I was driving down the road on route 460 west toward grundy, virginia, the roads was clear, and the weather was clear, at a speed about 35mph and the ceiling airbags deployed causing the seatbelts to lock up, and shut the truck down to a stop in the middle of the road. The air bags made a loud noise, that a neighboring business heard them deploy. I was not injured only scared and startled by what had just happened. I restarted my truck and pulled off to the side of the road, and could not understand what had happened, and proceded to drive to my mother in law's work place. I then called my mom which was the original owner and she advised me to call ramey Chevrolet richlands va because the air bags should not have deployed. I had to reshedule an appointment because of bad weather and being able to get off work to take it to them for their schedule until January 18, 2019. My truck was owned by my mom and dad and has never been in a crash. We have currently around 58,000 miles on this truck and as you can tell very low milage. My wife mostly drives this truck. Both me and my wife have always practice safe driving and obeyed speed limit. The truck is currently at ramey Chevrolet richlands va and I talk to an inspector from Chevrolet by the name of tony at 1-866-446-6963 ext. 59115544 and he told me they would not fix my truck because the shocks was damaged. Now if the shocks are damaged then when the truck was shut down by the airbags may have damaged the shocks, but this truck was not in a crash, there was no reason for the airbags to deploy just driving at a speed of around 35mph. I am thankful I was not injured. I hope we can work to get this resloved.
