While driving down the highway at 60 mph, the truck stumbled then completely died. After coasting to a stop truck would not restart. Towed to a repair shop to find out the bosch cp 4 fuel pump exploded and contaminated the whole fuel system with metal shavings. A very expensive and lengthy repair. Gm has known there is issues with these parts, but has failed to recall and fails to cover repair costs. Other manufacturers using the same part have issued recalls. While I was able to safely the get vehicle to the side of the road, the failure could’ve resulted in an accident causing personal injury or property damage.

Check engine came on Sunday morning the code that through was p0 526 u062f. After calling the dealer and setting maintenance to be done one day later, the truck broke down while driving on the side of the road. The dealer is saying that the belt came off and the tensioner locked up doing damage to the fan clutch and connector. The case, because the code that ran is saying that the belt wasn’t going the speed that it was supposed to because the tensioner failed. The vehicle only has 55,000 miles on it.

The engine failed. The 2022 GMC denali had 12,000 miles on it. This was a brand new truck. We were driving home at night the engine began to make noise and then cut off in the middle of the road. We had to get the car towed. The truck was left on the side of the road on a very busy highway. The dealer confirmed the engine failed and found metal shavings in the engine. The dealer has recommended a new engine from the GMC manufacturer. The manufacturer has not yet responded to the dealerships request. The engine light did come on prior to the engine shutting off.

On December 29, 2022 I stopped at the bank for 2 minute and when I got back to my truck I noticed smoke coming out from under the hood. I immediately called 911 and luckily some nice people were able to get my hood up safely and the bank provided a fire extinguisher before the fire trucks arrived. It was engulfed in flames. The fireman said it appeared the fire started in the wiring at the engine. I had a recall fixed a while back for the engine block heater so I was worried maybe they didn’t repair the recall. A week after the fire I received a 2nd recall in the mail for the same recall. Today is July 9th and my truck is still in the shop waiting on parts that have been on back order this whole time. GMC told my insurance company they were sending someone down to look at it. Never heard anything back. This could have been so bad had I been driving it when the fire started. So here I am going on 7 months without my truck all while paying $942/month. I just want something to be done to speed up the repairs that my insurance has paid. Estimate is $22,000.

While pulling 35' 5th wheel down freeway, a message appeared in instrument panel telling me the fuel filter was at 0 percent and was going into low power mode. There happend to be an offramp there that I was able to get off the freeway. While making the turn on the offramp the truck died. I pulled over as far as I could whie coasting with no power steering or brakes, leaving truck & trailer partially blocking the offramp. Unable to start the vehicle, I immediatly contacted onstar and they dispatched the chp & tow truck. When chp arrived he asked when tow truck would be there. Without being able to confirm exactly, and due to safety concerns because of blocking the offramp, he called his own tow truck (rons towing) and forced me to move vehicle to safe location. The issue ended up being the injector fuel pump (cp4) that gm was well aware of going out and sending metal fragments throughout the fuel system. I've been told the pump was made in china and not to gm standards. The vehicle has been repaired, all work was covered under extended warrenty, this all could have been avoided if gm would have replaced the faulty fuel pump under recall. Had this happened 100 miles further on our trip we would have been going over pacheco pass in calif. Could have been a total disaster had we been going down the other side with no power steering & no power brakes pulling a 12,000 lb trailer in the dark.

Constant issues with glow plug failures, fuel rail failure, fuel pressure failure. Truck has been in the GMC service regarding these issues constantly for the last year with a total of five repairs and replacement of glow plugs with releaning learning new plugs and now the 6th return to the shop they’re tearing down the fuel system. Malfunction and engine light consistently come on with the same occurring problems generating from the fuel system and glow plugs. Fuel mileage is absolutely terrible and lose of power hazardous to safety!!! GMC has issued an extended warranty for 15 years and 150,000 miles, but cant and hasn’t found a repair for vehicle and just replaces the glow plugs just so they can fail again and again!!! they need to replace everything that needs to be done and if no fix they need lemon law the vehicle. This is ridiculous going back to the shop every two weeks I have my truck in the shop for a month to get it back, to put it back in the shop two weeks later, to have it back in the shop for a month. Since this start 17months ago I’ve only been able to put less then 7000 miles on the vehicle because GMC constantly has the truck! the is ridiculous when you’re paying $800 a month for your payment and insurance on your vehicle that you can’t drive because the manufacturer is constantly having to repair and replace the same thing over and over again.

I took my vehicle into the local dealership two weeks ago for the dpf emissions voluntary recall. Prior to the service I was getting 16. 6 mpg for the 42000 miles on my truck. After the service, for the ~200 miles driven on same route and conditions commuting to and from work I have only been able to achieve ~13 mpg. There has been no other changes to my vehicle or operating conditions. When I took the vehicle in the advisor mentioned that it may take awhile for the service because “we have to download the update wirelessly. ” while researching this issue the recall document specifically warns against wireless download of the update. I am not sure if this may be the result of not following the correct process or not and I am headed back to the dealer today. I also found several others posting on the diesel forums about similar significant loss of mpg after the update. Losing almost 25% fuel efficiency after the update is unacceptable and reflects the my previous experience of efficiency loss during an actual regeneration cycle prior to the update. The vehicle is acting as if it is running in a constant regeneration cycle. Unsure if this may lead to dangerous driving condition due to excessive stress and wear on the affected parts and engine.
Diesel exhaust fluid tank, high pressure.

Faulty pigtail connector for fule injectors. Cause the vehicle to shut down even while going down the highway possibly causing injury by immediate deceleration wich could cause an accident. For me on this vehicle I’ve had this happen three times and it has cost me anywhere from $800 to 1000 per injector especially if damage is done to one of the fuel injectors.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the engine was making an abnormal rattling sound on cold starts. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front muffler exhaust baffle was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the rattling sound could not be heard; however, the contact stated that the rattling sound had become louder, and other individuals were able to hear the rattling sound. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Def system failed. Wire harness burned out. Tank failure. Truck went into limp mode. I personally know 3 others with the same issue.
Truck has had multiple issues related to the electrical system and truck modules. It is my opinion that these are all related to voltage issues or module problems. I have had multiple infotainment issues with delays loading, freezing up etc. Dealer has ran updates and checks with nothing found. In October around $35k miles the truck radio would not work if I used the push button start. If I shut the truck off opened the door and let everything reset I could push the start button in the truck and the radio would work majority of the time. The next day I went out to a completely dead truck. I talked to my service department at the local dealer and they said I would need to bring it in but suggested I disconnect the batteries and recharge the batteries. After doing so everything started working correctly. It fixed my radio problem and never went dead again. Since then I have experienced popping noises through the speakers when playing music occasionally. Over the last few weeks I noticed the engine does not attempt to increase cold idle speed until I press the brake to put it in gear. January 22nd I hit the autostart button and it did not work. I started the truck and it had cel, traction control, park brake and wrench, lights on with service emissions, and power reduced messages displayed. Truck is running odd. Codes present are (engine gmlan)p0118 - engine coolant temp circuit high voltage, (brakes gmlan_abs) u0401- invalid data from engine control module, p0562- system voltage low, (hvac controls gmlan_hvac) b1325 - . Control module power circuit. Truck is starting and charging fine. No connection issues at batteries. There are many TSB's and many complaints regarding similar issues. Common brake and emissions faults with minor differences. Module failures, communication faults, and or electrical faults are likely causing all of these similar issues. They need to be categorized as the same failure group which will show gm has a bigger issue.
I have a 2013 GMC sierra, purchased new in 2012, has approximately 35,000 miles. The check engine light came on while driving and suddenly another light came on. Then a third light came on claiming poor engine fluid quality. I immediately stopped at an auto parts store and put def fluid in the pickup and continued to drive thinking the lights would go out, but instead a warning was flashing on the dash that says after so many miles the truck will be slowed down. We started getting nervous because we were driving on the highway and if the truck suddenly slows down whilst driving in highspeed traffic, our slower vehicle would potentially cause a collision and put us and others in harms way. In reading your own safety site, there is a recall on the vehicle regarding faulty airbags, so it could be even worse! in our investigations of our current issue, we have found that there was a lawsuit from 2019 against gm and their faulty fuel system with their trucks. . I was driving at approximately 40 mph on a busy city street, I was going to be getting on the freeway where my speed would be in excess of 70mph. Suddenly without any warning, my 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 hd duramax died. I had no power at all which means no steering, brakes, etc. I was able to get the vehicle off the road with brute force. After the vehicle was towed to the dealership they inspected it and said that the fuel injector pump failed which put metal throughout the whole fuel injection system (>$7000 repair). While doing some additional research on the internet I find out that this is a common problem for the 2011-2016 gm duramax trucks, because gm chose to use a bosch fuel injector pump which is not suitable for use with us low sulphur diesel fuel.
Lost power at 60 mph on 5 lane freeway on 6% grade with no warning when turbo charger variable vane got stuck. Had to navigate through 2 lanes of trucks to get into the emergency parking lane. Computer limited me to 15 mph. Computer designed to do this. No accident happened due to some very courteous truck drivers. It seemed like a safety issue to me, but don't know if it is important enough for your to investigate.
The truck is parked at dealership.
The vehicle abruptly caught fire while driving on February 20th 2021. The reason remains unknown. Please see attached images.

While traveling on the interstate at speed and passing slower traffic; engine power fell off, change fuel filter now, engine derate, and check engine lite, occured. I had to maneuver with no power through the traffic to get out of the travel lanes. I was then stranded on the interstate as the truck would not start. I was able to get a mechanic to come and change the fuel filter on the side of the highway, but the truck would not start. The truck was eventually towed to a shop where it was diagnosed with a catastrophic failure of the fuel pump (diesel motor driven pump).

On 5/12/19 the check battery charging system light came on, so I left out side facing street in case I had to jump to take to dealer on Monday. I went in the house and 1/2 hour later heard and explosion and went out and the truck engine compartment was on fire.
Recall was issued April 25 2019, as of today almost 1 year later gm is still saying I can't get it done. Yet they are building and selling vehicles with updated parts in them.

Tl the contact owns a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500. While driving various speeds, the engine suddenly lost compression and the vehicle failed to accelerate properly. The vehicle was taken to courtesy Cadillac (1345 evangeline thruway, broussard, la) where it was diagnosed that one or more fuel injectors were faulty and remained open. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The contact indicated that all eight fuel injectors were previously replaced approximately five years; however, but the failure recently recurred. The failure mileage was 200,000.
Emissions failure. Nox sensor, def system. Driving, display states, poor def quality. Took in for repair, still def quality. Truck has slowed to 55mph, will slow to 4 mph in 39 miles. They are trowing parts at it at my expense. Can't properly diagnose. This problem is from 2010- current models of these diesels.
I purchased this truck November 26 2016, within a month I was sitiing in my driveway I turned the truck on when I went out to go to work in the morning I got a bunch of flashing lights service stabilitrak, service 4wheel drive, service traction control, made multiple attempts to contact five star auto in biddeford, brought the truck in they refused to fix issues, asked for a trade nothing on the lot was worth purchasing without putting me out more than I already owed, christmas morning the truck was towed to weirs in arundel they pulled the truck apart and found a bunch of wires were corroded and the frame of the truck was caked with rocks mud and sand which had caused the corrosion, they fixed the issue. Within a couple months the same issue came back up and once again the truck was in the shop getting worked on. The problem is not fixed after spending money to fix a problem I had less than 30 days from buying this vehicle(driving completely normal will cause these lights to flash at random times) , all the lights do still come on randomly and today while at the dayton country store my transmission in my truck went, I am waiting to get my truck towed from the store to a shop! for a vehicle that the carfax came back clean and the dealership made no attempt in helping me fix or pay for any issues I have had. Im now struggling with a vehicle that I was lied to about the condition it was in after paying $32,000 for a truck. I have kept all documentation and have images that were sent to me from weirs.
Engine went into limp mode while traveling 70 mph.
