36 Equipment problem of the 2017 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 01/15/2023

The radio in my truck acts on its own (buttons push by themselves). The problem is known and I’m fine with turning my radio off instead of paying a lot of money for a new one. I’ve been fine with it until recently. First problem I’ve let go for a while now which is that it turns on by itself while driving which is a distraction. But biggest problem now is not only did the radio turn on by itself but it also went into the backseat reminder and turned it off. I do have an infant and I hope to never forget. But when paying for a vehicle this is a feature you pay for. No one should lose a child bc of this. I’ve talk to a dealership about the initial problem and have done research on it. There is no warning signs. Vehicle has not been inspected by any others. I do have a video of the backseat reminder turning off without my control.

37 Equipment problem of the 2018 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

I have a 2018 GMC sierra duramax quad-cab and when it is connected to either my boat, stock trailer, or cargo trailer the lights and electric trailer brakes on the trailers do not work. And the chime from the "service trailer brake" indicator sounds and doesn't stop until I unplug my trailer harness from my truck making it a distraction and an unsafe situation when trying to navigate through traffic(changing lanes, stopping, and other functions needed when hauling trailers). The dealership said it was a module and specified which one and so I elected to replace it myself and it wasn't the issue. I choose to do the work myself as they quoted me a price of $700. 00+ to repair the problem.

It happened the first time the engine block heater was plugged in. February of 2022.

42 Equipment problem of the 2013 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 05/28/2022

Dash is cracked in multiple places. Dash is not structural however loose shards of plastic pose a serious safety hazard if they were to come loose as a the result of a sudden change in acceleration. Vehicle is low milage with 130k miles, previous owner failed to report or repair the failed dash prior to my ownership. It is a common failure on gm vehicles however it is very expensive to repair, unwarranted, yet poses a serious safety hazard. Dash will need to be repaired to ensure the safety of me and my family.

Failure Date: 12/11/2021

I auto started my truck. We jumped in and I put the key in to start and turned down the heater and pushed the rear defroster off and the passenger side rear window blows up like a shot gun blast. It shaders into a million pieces. Our 2 year old in a car seat right in front of it rear facing. If I was driving with the amount of noise it produced I could of crashed. I see there is a bandage recall but not for the hundred of thousand of the 2014/2020 for back windows just blow out.

55 Equipment problem of the 2013 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 02/25/2021

I purchased a vehicle that was advertised as having 52000 miles on the odometer. I looked at the vehicle and ended up purchasing the vehicle for 24,500. The vehicle was as it appeared as advertised. The seller provided a copy of a carfax report which showed the vehicle had 52000 miles on it with no damage reported, however I was unable to run my own carfax at the time of purchase due lack of internet access. Later on after the purchase I was able to look up my own carfax and it showed that the vehicle had 314,635 miles as the last odometer reading as well as moderate damage reported. I checked on autocheck as well and the same miles appeared but damage was not reported in this instance. I viewed the pink slip at the time as well and it appeared to be legitimate but after closer viewing where the last odometer reading was written it looked as if he had forged the numbers and changed them. I am unsure as to what to do at this point. I do not know how miles are on the vehicle and I don't know if there's anything else wrong or fraudulent regarding this. It would be greatly appreciated if I had someone help me out. Thank you.

59 Equipment problem of the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

The front park assist sensors on this truck do not operate as intended, or as on prior years or as on other vehicles. The sensors did not pick up parking bollards in front of a convenience store and resulted in a minor ding that cost over $1300 to repair. When bumper was repaired the service person said sensors were fixed, yet, to his surprise, we were able to inch up to a car directly intersecting the front of the car and it did not pick it up. I did a similar test with a brand new/unsold vehicle on dealer lot ind it failed to sense the large truck directly in front of it. This I believe can be a very dangerous safety issue as the truck hood sits very high impeding viability and a small person or pet can easily go undetected. These vehicles has also had numerous recalls including one for the possibility of the hood flying open while operating. I have sold the truck as all of these issues have devalued the vehicle, it remains unsafe and gm response has been less than favorable.

60 Equipment problem of the 2013 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 07/11/2019

Service stabilitrak warning light came on while driving on highway at 60mph. Truck went into "limp mode" . No trans pridal display. Truck driven slowly off highway. At the service dealer they determined that the transmission control module failed at 79,530 miles. Vehicle covered under the federal emissions warranty 8 year/ 80,000 however gm refused to honor.

61 Equipment problem of the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 03/04/2019

This truck has had problems with water getting into it during heavy rain since bought new. It seems to occur at the front door area near the windshield. When the truck is outside in the rain, there will be water soaking all the floor boards. This has led to stinking issues and mold/mildew. They have refused to fix it because it hasn't been recalled. It has been getting worse and the last very heavy downpour we had, the floorboards and windshield were frozen. This is a $60,000 plus truck. This is ridiculous that we have to keep it covered or in a carport for fear of water seeping into it. The vehicle is parked in heavy rain when this happens.

62 Equipment problem of the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500

The truck was picked up from the dealer after they said it was a wiring issue and was. It covered under warranty. This has happend 4 times already and been at the dealer 3 times I had it happen on the highway. Most of the time it restarts but now it don't.

64 Equipment problem of the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500

Truck has lane departure sensor, sensors you are too close, backup sensors. Last December these quit working. They thought be cause I put a new windshield in so they changes the windshield, then changed the camera and it didn't help. For 6 months they have been telling me they are working with gm technical assistance. Last week gm tells dealer need to change windshield, camera and a sensor, still doesn't work and now neither do any of the other safety sensors. Gm calls and says they are working with technical assistance.
