The throttle body gets stuck wide open after the eninge gets up to operating temperature, it will give some warning with the throttle like on off throttle use and no codes show up at all. The risk of everyones is in extrem danger. The break are to soft and well not stop unless you put both feet on the break pedal down to the floor. Tranismission can not figure out what gear it needs to be in way too many gears and horrible fuel mpg for the 6. 6l duramax l5p. None of the gm dealership will look at the truck unless there is a code or it is happening right there when they look up the trucks VIN.

Brake pedal has to be pushed almost all the way to the floor to stop, this recently changed from barely having to apply any pressure to the pedal. Took it to quebadeaux GMC on 11-10-2021 and they inspected the brakes, said everything was good and that’s normal for the brakes to be that soft. That’s not normal or it would’ve always been like that.

The vehicle recently had a recall repaired at the dealership. I subsequently took delivery on it as a brand new unit, and the brakes are extremely soft; to the point where I must depress the pedal to the floor to get it stopped even at slow speeds. I hoped it was just an air bubble from the repair; but the fluid levels are full and the dealer had no ideas on what could be wrong at this point. I have a great relationship with this dealer, and we’ll continue working on it. But gm is releasing absolute trash lately and I fear that some poor family will load up, trusting these vehicles, and be badly injured or killed. After 200 miles of driving it back to my residence, both at highway speeds and residential road speeds, these brakes have not improved; ruling out an air bubble. I’m worried it may be associated with the recall that was previously remedied.
Trailer brake wiring connection continually disconnectsthen reconnects some time later. Some periods of up to 10 minutes without having trailer braking power. Major safety issue when toeing fifth wheel trailer. We lost brakes going down steep grades. GMC is aware of issue, but has not provided a solution. Vehicle has been yo service shop with no resolution. Case has been opened with GMC.
The computer malfunctions. It is available for inspection. The computer lights up and causes failure in the trailer brakes. Glenn polk the dealership in sanger texas has been working on a fix but has yet to come up with one. I have spoken with general motors representatives several time trying to resolve the problem without result. I also emailed the ceo last Friday and have heard nothing. There were no warning lights until seconds before failure.

The brake booster cilynder have a bad leaking it was parked when I saw this happen.
The computer lights up the dash reducing power and turning off power to trailer brakes. This has almost caused an accident on several occasions . It happens a couple of times per trips. This vehicle has been in the shop a couple of times per month since it was put into service. Glenn polk Chevrolet has worked on it each time and the problem is still there. This truck has also had several injector issues. There is an open case with this vehicle with general motors with no resolution. I have filled out forms on each of my 2020 GMC's 3500's.
The computer lights up dash reducing power and taking the trailer brakes away. This almost caused a wreck when the truck shut off and the brakes failed. This truck has been in the shop at least once per month trying to fix the issues, from computer and brake failure to injector failure. Glenn polk Chevrolet in sanger has been working on this since the truck was new. Also we have case open with general motors without resolution. The dash lights up at the same time as the brakes fail.
The computer lite up the dash and reduced power, plus took the trailer brakes off line. This happened while loaded. To reset the system you have to pull over and turn the vehicle off. This happens 2-3 times per day. This was a problem at 600 miles. The transmission shifted from 10 gear to 5th gear while driving 75 miles per hour. The truck had 75,000 miles on it . Had to send another truck out to pick up the load in santa rosa new mexico. The dealer glenn polk in sanger has been working on for the last 4 months there is never a warning until the lights come on with a system failure.
April 9th 2020 I was operating my vehicle a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 denali equipped with the diesel package. I was towing a bobcat skid steer on a trailer with a total weight of approximately 4300lbs. I was traveling at about 45 mph when I encountered a red light. With plenty of room to stop I applied the brakes as normal. They initaillay grabbed and slow my travel to about 40 mph. Then out of what seemed nowhere the brake pedal rapidly went to the floor and the vehicle freewheeled through the light. I attempted multiple times to ease off the pedal and reapply to no avail. Upon entering the intersection I nearly crashed into a vehicle. When I nearly I mean with inches. I immediately slammed the e-brake bringing the truck to a skiddding halt. After dropping the trailer off in an empty parking lot my vehicle went to my local dealer. The service adviser who 1st encountered the vehicle experienced the issue 1st hand. After having it for nearly a week they called today to say they can't find the any issues. That makes this situation even more dangerous. You're unaware when this can happen. These vehicles need to have a new recall immediately.

I was driving up hill the truck lost power died/shutdown so I had no power steering no power brakes we live on a country rural road. Had the truck towed to kendall Chevrolet in eugene oregon where it has been since November 2 with electrical issues that they are trying to pinpoint.
When you put on the brakes you have to press so hard and I mean hard to get it to stop. It was not like that when it was new. It you put atrailer behind the truck and the trailer has breakes that is what stop the truck not the truck brakes. It is safe to drive. It has been going on for about 3 month. 19/2019.

I was traveling on a busy roadway at 40 mph when fuel filter warning light came on suddenly and vehicle lost all power - including the loss of power steering and power braking. Thankfully I had not yet entered the highway and was able to slow vehicle down but with great difficulty and not injure anyone around and that day was not towing a load. Vehicle would not restart. I had it towed to nearest dealership who then informed me that the "bosch cp4 fuel pump" had exploded sending metal shrapnel throughout the entire engines fuel system. The only fix was the entire replacement of the fuel system at a cost of over $11k. I had just purchased the truck 3 months prior. Upon hearing this, I see this has been a frequent safety problem affecting a whole line of 2011 - current gm, Ford, Dodge, and Jeep diesel vehicles equipped with the cp4 pumps. There are numerous lawsuits underway for this failure including one of a major accident while towing (what these trucks are made for) because of loss of power steering and braking upon engine stall after fuel pump explosion. The gm technical service bulletin for reference is #16-na-102. In addition, the NHTSA has received two manufacturer technical service bulletins on this very safety issue. This is very much a recall worthy safety issue. Losing engine power and loss to all power steering and power braking in these vehicles is beyond dangerous. In addition, when it is happening to vehicles designed to tow weights in excess of 30k pounds trailer load behind the affected vehicle the danger is amplified that much greater. Please issue a recall immediately. People's lives are very much at stake for gm's failure to remedy a known safety issue. Gm lists it as only a "hard start or no start". They do not recognize in writing the danger of full power loss at highway speeds which is most often how it presents itself.
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated after driving on a long downhill road at an undisclosed speed with his 2017 highland ridge 349 RV hooked to the vehicle, as he was reaching a leveling point and depressing the brake pedal to slow the vehicle, the brakes failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that as he depressed the brake pedal further, the brake pedal overheated and would no longer respond properly. The contact stated that the vehicle was rated at 22,000-23,000 while the trailer was 14,300 pounds loaded maximum. The contact stated that the trailer currently weighed 11,000 pounds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the braking system was operating properly. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I almost ran into another car because the other driver stopped suddenly and I had to pump the brakes over and over to stop when the rusted line broke. I was on a city street driving speed limit and was lucky to be able to stop. I was towing my trailer last week and almost lost the trailer because the entire underbody is rusted. I have had several trucks and never have seen this happen. It was a scary situation in both cases.

This truck has the same problems as the 2007 model. The ignition switch, parking brake, and fuel lines all have issues as similarly described for the 2007 model. The fuel lines actually broke through causing a leak of the diesel fuel. This happened after the vehicle was driven a short distance of 15 miles.

Vehicle is equipped with factory integrated trailer brake control (itbc). Back in Jan. , 2011 I got a message in the driver information center (dic): it said "service trailer brake system". Message intermittent at first, and then more frequently , and then message appeared at start-up every time. Dealer fixed problem. In April of 2013 the same problem has returned in exactly the same pattern as the previous fault. This a faulty system at best, and has serious design flaws. The serious safety issue here when the "service trailer brake system" message appears on the dic; all trailer braking is lost. There is no default or back-up system in which to apply trailer brakes. Even the manual trailer brake control built into the itbc is also rendered inoperable. This itbc failure could happen at any time, and at any speed. This vehicle is rated to tow a trailer of 10,000lbs. Plus. Many peoples lives could be put in jeopardy if suddenly all trailer braking were lost on a steep downgrade. This itbc system needs to be re-designed so that a vehicle operator can operate the trailer brakes manually if automatic trailer brake control is lost when the operator gets a "service trailer brake system" on the dic.

After experiencing abs braking problems on my 2001 GMC truck model nk3, I became aware of gm recall no. 05068, 05v379000, which the local dealer says this issue does not involve my vehicle. For safety reasons, I did repair the problem.
Steering hydrulic assist connections at booster constantly leak from day one. They have been replaced and still leak. Which in turn cause a decrease in brake pressure.
The contact owns a 2001 GMC Sierra 3500 diesel. The contact stated that the antilock braking system would activate while stopping from 50 mph. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). The mechanic stated that the repairs could cost slightly less than $1,000. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were less than 175,000.
My abs brakes prevent my truck from stopping at slow speeds.
Tl * the contact owns 2007 GMC Sierra 3500. While driving at speeds of 45 mph the contact depressed the brakes and the brake pedal fell further onto the floor board than usual before the vehicle would stop. The failure increased the brake stopping distance. The contact stated that the failure would occur whenever the vehicle was driven. The dealer was unable to duplicate or diagnose the failure eight times. The dealer advised the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive and there were no failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate current mileage was 49,000 and the failure mileage was 2,000.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that when depressing the brakes it would take longer than normal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised him that he needed to replace the disk and rotors. The vehicle was repaired; however, within approximately 20 months the same failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

In 1996 I purchased new a GMC 3500 crew cab pickup truck. I noticed immediately that when applying brakes hard all power steering was lost particularly in left turns and at low speeds. Braking was not hard enough to activate the antiskid. I notified the dealer and we tried the same maneuver on three other similair trucks in his lot. All did the same thing. After many calls it was determined that this was something "I had to live with".
