37 Body problem of the 2015 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 10/08/2015

Front passenger seat belt chime comes on when there is nothing on the front seat or almost nothing on the seat. This has happened at least 1/2 dozen times or more. I can be driving and all of sudden comes on. It can scare one esp 1st time. You don't know what is happening. I thought I blew a tire or door came open. My attention was everywhere but on 65 mph traffic on freeway. Breaks one's driving concentration. Independent of temperature. Other problem I have is lots of wind comes in on passenger door. It is not aligned properly. Gm has tried a couple of times with no success. Very annoying and hard to hear radio etc. . 3rd problem is navigation, communication center,it keeps disappearing. It is giving me directions somewhere and then just disappears and resets. It has been replaced once. It has gotten me stranded more than once. I am a senior who relies on system. When it disappears, I am not always somewhere that I can stop to completely reset and reenter all the information again. I feel that this is a safety issue. I was on hwy every time and most of the time not in a remote area but not in area that I could stop. In CA. There are many areas you do not want to get off the frwy at. All instances above happened in the city areas while driving. Service was done oct 2015. None of issues resolved despite attempt. All are ongoing.

38 Body problem of the 2015 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 09/05/2015

In the early morning of 9-5-15 my daughter began driving home from pittsburgh to DE. She swerved to avoid an animal on the PA turnpike, hit the jersey wall on the right, rolled over completely twice to the left, landing upright in the median. Luckily the seat belt saved her and she had only minor injuries. However the side air bags did not deploy. In fact onstar called 911 because their monitoring equipment showed that the air bags had deployed, but they did not. The vehicle was declared a total loss. There is no recall on this vehicle for airbag problem though I've heard that there should be so I wanted to report this.

39 Body problem of the 2012 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 06/21/2014

We had begun to cross an intersection and, while our speed was from a dead stop, the other driver blew through a red light and hit us at what was probably the speed limit of 40mph. Her car struck us in the right front passenger side and again on the rear passenger side. We, myself who was driving, and my wife, who was the passenger on the side hit, were both thrown hard to the right at impact, causing injuries to us both, most notably, my wife. She hit her head very hard on either the passenger door frame or the passenger window. No airbags deployed. No side airbags, no front airbags. No air bags deployed!.

40 Body problem of the 2013 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Snow, mud and all road dirt accumulates inside the bottom of all doors, up to the inside interior panel of the doors. Am concerned about rust in the future and if it's due to an improper seal on doors.

41 Body problem of the 2012 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 06/08/2013

Vehicle was involved in a car accident and crashed into a bridge iron beam head-on. Vehicle's air bags failed to deploy. Hood and front of car smashed as vehicle was wrapped around beam. Only minor injuries to driver, as driver was wearing a seatbelt.

42 Body problem of the 2013 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 04/22/2013

Road dirt, snow, mud accumulates at inside bottoms of doors all the way up to bottom of speaker areas. I can see where it is pulling down the bottom panels. Called dealer and asked for gm info on this and nothing back from dealer. Also 2 weeks ago engine lite came on, took to local dealer for replacement of gasoline sensor? at 10,000 miles? asked if I used corn gas? no, I use plus or premium. Does this happen every 10,000 miles? also I am concerned I will have rust on my doors very soon.

43 Body problem of the 2013 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Started right after I purchased the vehicle in Jan 2013 and continues every winter. When outside temperature falls below 40 degree's the vehicle windshield makes a cracking sound. I like to refer to it as making "popcorn" same sound. Continues while driving until I heat up car. I have brought it to dealer attention even had it in service department but they are unable to duplicate sound. I have video and sent to GMC.

44 Body problem of the 2012 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 04/16/2012

?on April 16th our son was driving on fairview rd. And traveling through a green light when a car that ran a red light hit him. ?his car ? a GMC 2012 Terrain was hit multiple times ? driver's front end, front end and spun around from the force and hit on the passenger side. No airbags deployed ?[xxx] was immediately contacted by on star, they called police, his car was totaled ?on 4/21 I emailed GMC and asked what department I would contact to file a complaint about the front and side airbags not deploying call from GMC 866-790-5700 ext. 22745 said on voice mail ? the airbag did not deploy as it should have? he made a case number [xxx] GMC has since declared this was a low threshold event - no need for airbag deployment - yet the car was totaled and our son has whiplash and contusions information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

45 Body problem of the 2011 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 01/10/2012

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that the vehicle would vibrate excessively when being driven over 30 mph with both rear windows opened. The contact stated that the vibration was so severe, that it would cause headaches for those riding in the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who advised that there was a design flaw within the vehicle that was causing abnormal wind pressure and vibrations. The dealer stated that there was not a repair available that would remedy the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 6,000.

46 Body problem of the 2011 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 06/29/2011

I was on the interstate in cincinnati, ohio when a deer crossed over the jersey wall onto the roadway as I was just beginning to exit. I hit the deer at a minimum speed of 45-50mph. My airbag did not deploy. Although I was unharmed I am concerned about the failure of the airbag to deploy given my speed and front impact. My vehicle has also recently had an intermittent issue with sudden loss of power that has been attributed to the stability control system. Given the recent rash of incidents surrounding GMC vehicles and the lack of recalls on the Terrain vehicle, I am reporting these incidents at this time as I am concerned that they may be indicative of broader problem with the Terrain model of vehicle.

47 Body problem of the 2011 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 06/21/2011

I was going to a 930 am doctor appt@the cancer clinic, with my husband & father as passengers. I was in the left turn lane northbound attempting to turn into the hospital. It was 910 am. There was a lg. Delivery truck opposite me in the southbound left turn lane. As I pulled in the southbound lane, easing forward to ensure clearance the other car behind the delivery truck pulled out and around the truck and sped up to go through the intersection to make the lightthat was amber at this point. My father said that her head was down and she didn't look up until just before impact. There were no skid marks & the impact was high on the pass. Side of my vehicle rocking us up onto 2 wheels on the drivers side & then back down on all 4. My vehicle was t-boned on the front passenger side. The lady came out from behind the delivery truck at the last second, changed lanes & proceeded into the intersection at the same time I was trying to turn left. At this point the light was yellow. I have, I do believe 8 air bags, with 8 sensors in the Terrain's. Also I have a full subscription to onstar which also has crash sensors in my car. * one air bag went off nor did any sensors**. Onstar did not call me after the crash to tell me that they would be sending help, ambulance, police etc. My injuries were: contusion to left side of head above ear. Scalp wound above right ear, with permanent indentation to right side of my head,2 small cuts right side of forehead. Black eye's. Pain in neck & stiffness. Right eye socket @ eye brow swollen. Husband: seatbelt bruising, neck pain/stiffness. My father, neck pain, stiffness, scraped skin on instep of right foot. This formal complaint is with general motors, GMC Terrain, & onstar for not 1 airbag having not gone off/deployed, nor did onstar make any effort to contact me. I contacted both gm & onstar & they did nothing to compensate me.

48 Body problem of the 2010 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 02/07/2011

Multiple problems: 1) front right tire well hole/leak found while investigating a complaint of mold odor inside car. 2) initially, the usb and a/c were malfunctioning. Then the car radio stopped working; and now the car will not start (possible electrical shortage related to the above leak?) I tried to charge the battery; however, I believe something may be draining the battery as it keeps dying.

49 Body problem of the 2010 GMC Terrain

Failure Date: 06/26/2010

2010 GMC Terrain, when the rear windows are partially or fully open, or being opened, at speeds of 45 mph or greater the vehicle starts to shake and vibrate. The higher the speed the more severe the shaking becomes. It is similar to the shaking you get after a blow out and gets dangerous at high speeds.
