Tl-the contact owns a 2000 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 to 40 mph the brake failed to engage and the brake pedal stock to the floor board. The contact inspected the vehicle and located the brake line corroded and caused the brake fluid to leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 130,000. Li.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2013

I was just backing up to hitch a trailer when the brake pedal went to the floor, thankfuly it happened before I hooked the trailer as I would certainly have had an accident towing a trailer with no brakes! I looked under the vehicle and saw it was leaking brake fluid toward the driver side rear door, brake line had burst.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2013

I was driving around town when the brakes felt a little soft. The next morning there was a puddle of brake fluid under the vehicle. I put in a half a bottle of brake fluid into the reservoir. I drove to the house and parked it. Several minutes after parking there was the beginning of a puddle of brake fluid. I made several other stops and at each stop brake fluid was beginning to leak when vehicle was turned off. Took vehicle to shop and was told that the brake lines all needed to be replaced.

4 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2012

My GMC Yukon experienced total brake failure. My wife was driving with our 3 month old son and luckily she was able to stop off of the side of the road in a field. When I arrived, I found a puddle of fluid under the driver side seat from badly corroded steel brake lines. After only a few minutes of online researching, I have found thousands of similar stories; some of which ended much worse. Clearly this is a quality and safety issue.

5 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2004

The first time the abs ebcu failed we had only owned the car a few years. We figured out something was wrong by the continuous growling buzz under the vehicle. We had to full the fuse to disconnect the unit to prevent it from running down the battery while we tried to learn exactly what was wrong. ----------- on the good side, the car runs fine without it. On the bad side, ebcu replacement is a ridiculously expensive repair. Gm charges $1400 for the stupid part, the total was just under $2000 by the time all was done. ----------- it would be one thing if the ebcu was some great invention that really improved the human condition. It is not. Not only does it never help, it is actually dangerous. ---------- any time you try to stop on bumpy roads the ebcu fights you. Many times I thought I was going to drive into an accident at an intersection because there was a bump and then the stupid abs unit would not let me brake. It forces the brake pedal up and lets the car roll forward when I am frantically trying to stop the car. ---------- how many times I have wished I didn't have power brakes at all! ---------- the reason I found this website is because now at 130782 the stupid thing has failed again. Now without a warranty, but with the internet, I learned how many other people have experienced the failure of this unit. There are many pages about it among gm car enthusiast groups, and even ebay auctions offering to fix the things! ---------- the ebcu is in a tight spot you can only get to with one hand while lying under the vehicle, and a quart of brake fluid drips out on you as you sequentially undo the 5 brake lines that lead to the unit. ---------- my general opinion about auto design is that whoever approves the final design of some part should have to change one of them at home with tools commonly available to an average citizen!.
